The art style is cool but I was not able to read the instructions so was not sure how to play.

A nice idea, but needs some work. The bow was a bit weird to aim at first, it took me a bit to figure out how to shoot and wherer or not I had actually hit the target. Then the sword was a bit weird as I used it once and got dashed off the side. Now I saw a demo video/gif during the jam with enemies, I assume that is what that was for? Ingnoring all of that, this is a great idea for a dungeon crawler style game with the floor as lava, I look foward to seeing some work on this post jam to complete it xD

Cool game idea. If I had to give some advice it would be to focus on the main mechanic. Like I think that the sword in this game is completely useless, and not needed. The only thing I used was the bow, and I never had to "not aim" so it's useless to bind it to the right mouse button, just make it the default. Theres really only 1 button you need to play this game: "fire arrow" since I never have to "not grapple" towards it, that could be automatic. So if you decide to make that the main mechanic, just focus on that and improve it by like making the aiming a bit more easy to use, by making the mouse less sensitive, making the aim wobble a bit, so you have to time it, and correct it, making the targets move, things like that. Anyways. Nice game, well done! :)

I don't want to be too harsh, since I know we all had a short amount of time to finish these projects. But I couldn't even make it past the first platform... I tried for a good 10 minutes at least, dashing while looking upwards and jumping at what I felt had to be the last possible moment while running forward. Could never get to the second island though, and the song got grating the more I heard it restart after dying.

It could be something that I'm personally doing wrong, but this game might benefit from some thorough playtesting. Not only would it help fine tune the initialization process for your players, but it could also give you guys cool new ideas for gameplay! I really like how the game looks, and can tell that it has a lot of potential to be really fun with the mechanics you've put in already. I'm excited to potentially play this after you've continued working on it some more! ðŸ˜„

Also, I just gave it a replay because I thought that maybe the things above the islands could be hit to unlock a bridge or something. I found that wasn't the case, but it hadn't even occurred to me to shoot those things until I did a second take in the game's promo pics. It could be cool to make them stand out a bit more (maybe with the color) and do something interesting gameplay-wise!

I really like the art style, but it feels like it lacks some gameplay elements. Maybe add different islands, Moving targets, Wind?

One question though, how did you export the game to a single executable?

i was planning to add both different islands and moving targets, but i realized early on that i wouldn't be able to because of the time limit so i ended up going with a single island type. to export as a single executable on Godot you just need to mark the "Embed Pck" option when exporting

I really love the art style and the mechanic
