A new upload is being done now, that tries to improve some parts of the game visually. Like a help panel, an in-game menu, and some more dramatic scenes I hope. Although I planned to add some combat today, I will leave this out until Sunday, as the Scream Solstice voting period is over then.
I can see this WIP becoming a visual novel RPG with pokemon-like battles. The intro dialogue was well written, it engaged me with your medieval world but because its a WIP, it felt bland. I suggest making scene feeling more alive, maybe with more props and characters.
Thanks for the review. Much of the story and artwork was cut out due to time constraints and should be added in, or at least more fuller than it currently is. We still need to finalise the battle mechanics, and I will certainly look at Pokemon, to see how it is done. The next major update will be on Friday, and I hope quite a few more things are fleshed out then.
How do I play? I'm using the Linux version, and the game starts alright, but after the intro I'm stuck in a screen with three skeletons and whatever I try it seems to do nothing.
Also the intro's texts advance too quickly for me, I don't have enough time to read it. Please let it stay on the screen until I press a key or button.
I should really put it in our description, that this really unfinished. I will make the changes to allow Enter or any key to be used for advancing the text in the next major update. So no actual game play unfortunately because running out of time. My optimistic update for this game, with some real basic play-ability, is planned for Friday at the latest. Thanks for trying it out though. Also it seems to confirm to me that the Linux version doesn't have a crash like the first version release for Windows have.
