Beautiful game! I think adding hazards would make the game more interesting, but I had a blast playing. The sound effects are great - I love the moth-eating sound - the gameplay is simple and easy to understand, and I could see myself losing hours while trying to beat high scores since moths extend gameplay time. You could adds more spiders color for that extra variety, but it's definitely not required.
Really nice movement and sound effects in this game. The game fells really nice and the movement is really smooth and polished. I would suggest adding something to avoid that would either subtract time or lives to mix things up.
First off, really polished game. The aesthetic was very cohesive, every graphical element looked like it belonged.
The movement felt good, it gave a great feeling of weight to the player character, and the controls were quite simple and easy to grasp, adding to the overall satisfaction of playing.
Not sure if this was just a me thing or not, but I thought the purple spider would take points away or hinder me in some way, but was surprised to find that this wasn't the case. Maybe if you ever go back to this idea, maybe make the purple spiders bigger and take away points?
The sound design was great! It made the game super-satisfying when your little bat-fella chomps on a bug!
I liked this game and Pollen Grabber the most out of all the games I played in this jam! Good work!
I thought that this game was really well made and looked fantastic in the browser! I love the sound effects that you choose. The only thing id change is maybe making the bat go slightly faster.
This game was fun and easy to play! My biggest criticism is that it doesn't feel like there's much at stake. The player isn't punished for missing any bugs, and regardless of if the player collects the moths, they cannot prevent the timer from running out. The time it takes for a moth to spawn is longer than the time returned for eating a moth. I think that adding in some kind of enemy that would lower the timer for the player were they to hit it would be a good way to up the stakes here!
