Just like "Flappy Bird" it is fun to play, although it is hard to get past the obstacles, and in my opinion it needed some sound effects.
All in all, good game.
Love the artwork, as well as the concept itself, a great spin on the flappy birds theme. It is a bit difficult which I think can be addressed by either adjusting the hit boxes of objects or potentially changing certain variables (e.g. gravity, speed the objects move, amount the turtle jumps). But considering the time, a great submission.
I love the theme, the artwork looks great! I played this with a trackpad where the click is slightly delayed making it brutally difficult, perhaps you could add the spacebar as a control as well? I also noticed a bug where if you ate a jellyfish the next one wouldn't spawn. Overall a great game though, nicely done!
Also TIL that turtles do in fact eat jellyfish which is pretty metal.
Pretty good game! I love the sprites they looked awesome. A soundtrack would be nice but given the time constraints its pretty cool - congrats! :)))))
For the short amount of time we had to produce this game I can see that there was a lot of effort put into this, I liked the idea that the turtle was swimming to avoid certain items that had been polluted into the sea, an the movement looked like he was actually swimming! Only thing I would say is audio that would of made it stand out better like a swim sound effect but with the short time I feel this is still a good game!
Your student number should be in the title to make it easier to find out who you are! A good attempt at replicating the flappy bird style of play, sprites are well made and would be a solid submission if tweaks are made.
The scrolling environment was nice, albeit a bit stuttery based on how the sprite is reset. Perhaps it might have been nice to try to keep the sprite similar throughout to reduce the chance of the reset being noticeable. Secondly, the movement and hit detection is a bit harsh at times which means that navigating the obstacles can be especially difficult. Although Flappy Bird does something similar, it is more forgiving. It would only require minor tweaks to collision boxes and input to fix this. Also there is no upper boundary to you can spam left click and fly off into space!
Overall, this is a decent submission with the right idea and with some tweaks, a very impressive product would be made. Well done.
