A story exemplifying the struggle of so many a game developer, incredibly relatable. And I appreciate how you opted to build this in RPG Maker, a nice bit of variety from the other entries!
This is such a relatable game, I can't count the amount of times I would struggle with getting started with something, even if I was "passionate" about it. Also didn't expect RPG maker lol!
This was such a beautiful and relatable game! I'm glad I wasn't alone on feeling paralyzed at times when it came to this class! Super impressed you went with RPG maker, I have a version of it myself but have always felt too nervous/paralyzed to try and make a game with it since my cmput 250 class used unity, but this motivated me to maybe try and check it out finally!
Certainly didn't expect RPG maker! Very clean all around, high quality cutscenes and transitions. Nice artwork, and a relatable message too!
Faiaz here! Really good game! I like the powerful message it sent! Very well done!
A uniquely beautiful and relatable game! As somebody who also struggles to get started with creative projects (and collects amiibos and records myself) I hope that this was a fulfilling and reflective experience for you. Very cool to somebody submit an RPG maker game to the Jam, and I think the simplicity of this all does not diminish its impact.
Great narrative presenting the difficulties but also positive moments in game development. The “shine” (ish idk what else to call) it effect for pointing out the next object to go to was very well done and helped a lot in pointing the user in the correct way.
A quick hint at the beginning about controls would have been appreciated, nevertheless great story!
I really liked this! I enjoyed how you went through the different game experiments we did without directly mentioning “games.” I also really liked the sort of mixed-media approach where some interactable showed a real life photo. Really fun way to reflect on the course!
