This is a really complete feeling little arcade game with smart mechanics, the only thing missing for me was music but that's more than understandable for a solo dev. The graphics are extremely clean too. This seems to be the first thing you've uploaded on itch, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of your projects.
look at that lil kogasa oh my god ten outta ten
some simple platforming with an attack you gotta properly aim, good stuff
score: 7600
Reminds me of Bubble Bobble, which I think someone else mentioned too. Very cute graphics
Beautiful and fun arcade game! I love the aesthetic and the gameplay. The sound is good, the music... well sadly there isn't any music. Which is a huge shame, because the rest of the game is so well made. Next time, I want to hear some tunes. Gimme da chewns, mane!
Umbrella's hitbox doesn't seem to make sense, I understand you can't attack from below, but the upper point doesn't seem that much visible, I never got to hit the last ghost, I surely think you could, but I just couldn't.
Still, a pretty and fun game, had my joy with the sprites, all of them were cute, so I don't regret playing this.
Very nice one-screen platformer design, I like the use of wrapping around the vertical ends of the screen. Sound effects were very pleasant. The main thing I dislike is the umbrella attack, I understand it only has a hitbox when it opens but the timing feels extremely tight and it strikes at an awkward angle; I feel the hitbox should linger for a bit. Also the bullets shot by the boss are extremely unthreatening since they fizzle out before they can reach you, and there's a lot of doing nothing while you just wait for the boss to come close enough to be hit.
Cute and well delivered. Kogasa's attack stye really adds flavor to the game.
I don't fully understand the umbrella hitbox since some umbrella opens that felt like definite hits did nothing and some that felt like definite misses were hits. The metal sounds when hitting the ghost at the end made me think they were doing no damage (since metal sfx often means blocked or deflected).
Cool game that reminds me of Bubble Bobble; even managed to beat it without losing a single life. I do wish the game related more to the overall theme though, especially since Kogasa's theme is one of the best in the series.
Fun game. It uses the wrap-around mechanic pretty well, and the controls work. It is what it says it is - a short arcade game.
