Great job like last time. Every gag hits, and the story still has a nice heart to it.
I absolutely loved this. What it lacks in technical impressiveness it makes up for in just... the funnest writing. My lack of knowledge on these characters doesn't really matter much, since the story just really works even if you aren't familiar with them. And yeah, the Reisen/Tewi scene was amazing. I don't have much else to say, it was just great. I love the way the sprites moved too, everything just felt so animated. Thank you for the frog.
In short, it's like... just, really fun. One of my favorite entries so far on writing alone.
Very simple silly story made in RPG maker where you run errands throughout a series of shenanigan's and gags while fighting out prejudices >:D
Favorite parts: Learning about new characters of the franchise I wasn't that familiar with, making me like them even more, and the Inaba goofballs surprised the hell out me and did made to crack up for a bit and process what had happen for a bit hahaha.
Another hit in the vein of Elly's Exciting Eviction Adventure. That was hilarious. The part with the car was so sudden that it made me laugh out loud, and then the scene with the merchant, LOL. Great work. The various locations keeps it fresh and there's never a dull moment.
"Short, goofy story" really is the perfect description for this game. It doesn't take itself seriously, finds humor everywhere, and then finds another layer of humor on top of its own humor. The jokes can be hit or miss, but there are enough that a couple will certainly draw chuckles. Even better in my opinion is the oblique approach to LGBTQ themes. It starts subtle, and eventually clubs you over the head with it. A comedy tackling the bigotry head-on is refreshing to see. Writing aside, it is clearly an RPG maker game but there are a plethora of unique sprites and well decorated areas to make it feel like Gensokyo. You will mostly be wandering and chatting, which makes the end sequence even more surprising and hilarious. If nothing else, I wish there was more to explore that wasn't required for the story. Always room for more Chiyari and Joon antics!
Heck yeah, Chiyari! This kind of comedy suits her well.
Good variety of stuff and nothing dragged on longer than it should have.
I think I managed to get all the cards.
As soon as Tewi got hit by a car I knew I was in for a good time. This was FUNNY as hell. The pacing and writing rocked. The sprites were really cute and nicely identifiable too. I liked picking up the stuff for the house, and the chase sequence was an awesome surprise.
Definitely one of my favourites of the jam. Well done for doing it all yourself too!
