Lovely read. I liked it overall though maybe there are two things that didn't stick with me:

*the pacing of the story constantly slows down for the intellectual talk the characters always drift into. So in my eye it looked like "Here we go for 2 minutes-> cultured talk for 7 minutes -> repeat". Not that I don't appreciate the topics, I guess it does happen IRL too, but the pacing alternating between the frank short waves and the philosophically dense and slow waves puts me off balance. Or maybe it's not about the pacing but how there are so many different topics in a row, instead of exploring one side of a central theme.
*also, I think Reimu doesn't do much herself. While Reimu admires Marisa's tact and cooking and personality, Marisa just doesn't visibly return the favour as much. Maybe it's because Reimu's the main protag here so we know only her thoughts, but I'd have liked Marisa to say or show something to Reimu too, or have Reimu have her cool moments too so that Marisa can compliment Reimu - in short I felt the affection looks rather one-sided

Despite these, the entire story manages to be a good buildup to the ending so it's all cool.

I featured this game in my showcase video even though I can't really do much aside from small comments here and there:

whatever this danmokou engine is is clean as hell, looks better than most ren'py. second super quality unity vn ive seen this jam. looky all those cool lil effects, people jumpin in and bouncin around. autoresizing font for longer lines

about game mmm i like reimu and marisa's legal expertise, you got not one or two but four very recent touhous hanging out here all with very sharp tongues. sannyo and yachie are absolute beasts. mokou is as knowledgeable about historical dyemaking as you would expect and crimson vs vermilion is the new ladder vs stepladder (i agree with marisa). the ze☆ has seen less use recently but i think it is awesome and inclusion here is nothin but good

tl;dr: its awesome i only have like one hour to play like 7 more games before voting period ends but this one was worth it

I'm too dumb to follow all the complicated explanations, all I know is that Yachie and Sannyo absolutely ran off to go make out aggressively

Developer(+1)

Yachie and Sannyo are absolutely making out aggressively while screaming insults at each other, that’s the most important takeaway

Very good read, I like all the random-yet-relevant knowledge, very much my kind of dialogue. Feels like Gensokyo got Google access, but not in a bad way

INCREDIBLE!  Very well put together with terrific writing!  I'm very curious if the author is knowledgeable naturally or if they did a lot of research on the topics brought up in the story?

Developer

Thanks! Most of the topics brought up in the text are things I happened to research while writing. One day I hope to be knowledgeable enough to write off the top of my head :)

This was a lot of fun, and also surprisingly educational. (I hope. Please don't deceive me, Internet!)
The game hits both high and low on the humor spectrum, and I think this variety is important for a game of this length. Great writing.

Also, I can't believe Danmokou is now also a VN engine! When's 144 FPS support?

Developer(+1)

I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it! I can assure you that only a very small number of things in this game were made up. Trust nobody, not even random touhou fanfics on the internet!

144 FPS won’t happen since there’s no reasonable way to make a 144 FPS replay functional on a 60 FPS screen or vice versa. Though if you make your own DMK projects you can change the internal frame rate to whatever you like :)

You know shit's going down the moment the text shrinks to account for its sheer volume. ReiMari as portrayed here... a bit lazy but w/e. Yachie x Sannyo, ...sure. Saki x Miko... um. Yukabaraki, depends on how their food date went. Kaguya x Mokou, pretty standard stuff. But we know the real ship here is the crimson v vermillion discourse x the Youmu flower discourse.

Is it only me or the game just locks at the part where Reimu wakes up suddenly (at the very start).
Version is 1.1.0

Sounds like an audio-related issue? Haven’t seen anyone else run into that. If you send me the logs from the DMK_Logs folder I should be able to figure something out. (You can message me on Discord at Bagoum#4773)
