I really liked that you added a cutscene at the start of the game! The visuals and music were both nice as well. Having enemies spawn faster as night approached was a cool way to use the sunset theme, but even at the max spawn rate it was possible to kill all the enemies by just attacking as fast as possible; I think increasing the cooldown on the attack would make missing an attack more risky!
Very polished visuals. Music was also great, maybe add some more sound effects. You can build on this and develop a bit more gameplay options maybe advance to next stage, platforming, different enemies etc. Good job! :-)
Congratulations on your first game with your theme! Visuals are well-picked for the samurai theme and the story is well-thought and unique. Well done!
Thank you!
Nice use of assets, everything fits quite well together!
I found it fun that I could hit the dying corpses continuously and they'd move backwards lol, maybe that could be integrated in a fun mechanic somehow.
The special attack feels a bit underwhelming though, it just can hit one enemy and can't even be shot backwards. Reworking that would make using it more rewarding.
But overall, congrats on your game!
Thanks for the feedback, I agree that mechanic could be made better, maybe I will change it up a bit.
awesome! Like randomdoodle said, congrats on this being your first jam game! :)
Thanks!
Congrats on putting together your first jam game that you developed and completed! You really found some nice looking assets and they all blended together well, which isn't always easy. After reading about the controls on the page, everything seemed to work but I did have some hit detection problems where the enemy would get hit WAY ahead of where I was swinging. Not sure if it's intentional. Overall though, solid job getting this out for the jam!
Thanks! The hit detection was a bug first, but turned into a feature, so while the player gets overwhelmed theres a chance to fight back.
Nice! I always love when you can turn a bug into a feature. Good choice.
