I did get confused at the start a bit, but quickly got used to it. It helps that dying and restarting is fast and that you have a small period to adjust before the first shark comes in.

1:31s :)

Super creative gameplay while being easy to understand. Nice artwork too.

The only problem I had was that I accidentaly hit R while trying to do a second run and it reset me to the top lol

Really nice submission!

Lovely artwork and fun gameplay!

Loved that there was almost no cap to my squid speed lol and felt the difficulty was well adjusted for a jam game.

Nice work :)

Loved the lighting effects used, made the game feel very lively :)

The gameplay was a bit repetitive but it worked fine without any problems. Managed a score of 100!

Never managed to make it back alive :^)

While it’s quite simple, it’s such a great idea that you can’t see what time left you have, having to make an educated guess for when to go back. That mechanic expanded into a full game could turn into something very fun and challenging.

Yummy crabs, managed to eat 21 :)

Super fun, the gameplay is super solid and really creative. It’s so stressful trying to hide from the sharks!

Loved everything about this!

Lovely art and the game playes quite nicely :)

The fish hitboxes are a bit wonky though, kept getting hit while I was visibly not touching anything.

Keep at it!

Surprisingly quite engaging considering the simple gameplay. Love the aesthetics and vibes!

Wish there was a tad more to it (maybe an ending?) and my complain is the music notes for diving can get a bit annoying after a while (the music is dope though)

Lovely work :)

Thanks a lot for your kind words! Yeah while the game is difficult, I wanted to make restarting fast so I'm glad that kept you trying :)

Thanks a lot for your nice comment! :)

Loved the premise and idea, the art is really nice and the music fits really well!

However, it's a bit hard knowing the right answers without looking at the solution. But for a game jam it's understandable.

As a suggestion, the clues should definitely be organized by character instead of a big list, would make navigation much easier.

Nice job!

While I like the premise a lot,  there were very few situations where I had to look for something else besides the name and barely had to pay attention to the employees sprites. Maybe having a timer would make the gameplay more exciting too.

Has a lot of potential!

Cute little game. The collision detection was a bit confusing, the mole sprite would be a lot lower than were I was digging, making me lose accidentally.

Keep at it!

The alien art is SO nice! The gameplay works superwell, having to constantly check all your employees while on the being lookout of better talent.

Managed to get 9031 capital while having 3 guys resign lol.

Just some music would've make it even better. Nice job!

I fired myself, 10/10

This brings work related flashbacks lol. Really nice UI and gamification of a Kanban board :)

IMO the sprints should be a bit shorter, I managed to have lots of extra engineering points from my first sprint lol. Also I feel it plays better without having the ability to make decisions while the game is paused. Feels more chaotic and fun.

I made 7900

Simple but works well, if expanded could be a fun little game :)

Loved the mole art, managed to have over 300 dwarfs :^)

Didnt' find much use for the gray guys and wished there was a timer showing when the payment would come. Otherwise good entry and quite fun :)

Lasted 63 seconds :^)

The art could definitely be improved, but gotta say I liked the parallax effect added.

The gameplay is a bit too simple but works well without mayor flaws.

Good job!

Simple gameplay but very creative! Loved the little guys art.

As a potential improvement, having keyboard keys mapped to each action (F for firing, P for promoting) would've been appreciated.

Nice entry!

The art is perfect, there's a lot of creativity while keeping with the theme and overall a really nice experience :)

A tad difficult (but I'm not really a puzzle guy lol) and my only gripe is not being able to rotate the employees on top of eachother outside of the puzzle area, which can be a bit frustrating at time. Otherwise super nice.

Another really cool entry of you! :)

Funny entry while fitting the theme super well. Also quite fun to play while adding an interesting mechanic (not double firing an employee) to a simple gameplay style. Well done!

I'm the bestest boss :^)

Fun little game, fitting the theme perfectly and loved the sound design!

(1 edit)

Lovely artwork and music, perfect atmosphere for firing your employees :)

Loved that the environment also reacted to the fire. Mechanically solid while also adhering to the theme quite well!

Scored 270!

Super lovely artwork and nice ambiance with the sound effects :)

The gameplay is simple but works quite well. Just wish the ant was a tad faster or maybe had a dash of sorts.

Congrats on the game!

The enemy hitbox being so big is definitely frustrating, something I gotta look out  for when making future games. Much appreciation for your comments :)

I'm glad you had fun! Yeah, the difficulty spikes quite hard after the tutorial levels, will be improving on that on my future games.

Thanks a lot for your kind comment :)

Thanks for playing and finishing it! Officialy the first one to do it (I didn't have time to playtest it all the way through lol)

Yeah the difficulty curve is all over the place and probably a bit too unforgiving still. Appreciate your words and your feedback :)

Yeah, big mistake on my part. It should be fixed now!

Thanks a lot for reaching out and telling me about this!

It's been fixed! Thanks a lot for bringing this to my attention

I'm so sorry, I made a huge mistake with the mouse detection lol

It's been fixed now, thanks a lot for letting me know, hope you can give it a try now :)

Plays really nicely and fits the theme of the jam perfectly.

Creative idea and fun game!

Haha yeah it can get a bit intense, I'm glad you had fun! Thanks for your kind words :)

Awesome game! Lovely art and sound design.

The gameplay is super intuitive and the new mechanics that come up feel really natural.

Loved how the game queue'd up your moves for a smooth movement and how the music would change with your moves :)

Also thanks to the other commenter for helping me with lvl 23 lol

Thanks a lot for commenting!

It does get faster when you're late to hitting the ball, I'm glad it gave the sense of urgency I expected haha

Thanks a lot for your kind words :) Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you for your kind comment and I'm glad you had fun! And nice work on the high score :)

Yeah, it's definitely a matter of testing (which can't really be done in 3 hours lol) or just making enough games that you start to get a feel for it.

Would gladly test some other puzzle games you end up making!

Nice atmopshere, the gameplay is solid but needs a bit of improvement, such as the player hanging on platforms after missing a jump.

Good job!

Funny interaction: if you try to crawl (CTRL) and try to move forward (W) you close the game window (CTRL+W)

Nice atmosphere and the gameplay is solid.

I find it fun that the score keeps counting even after crashing and sent flying. I think that'd make for a fun and interesting game mechanic if expanded further :)

Nice use of assets, everything fits quite well together!

I found it fun that I could hit the dying corpses continuously and they'd move backwards lol, maybe that could be integrated in a fun mechanic somehow.

The special attack feels a bit underwhelming though, it just can hit one enemy and can't even be shot backwards. Reworking that would make using it more rewarding.

But overall, congrats on your game!
