This sounds like a great arrangement (I'm also not familiar with Castlevania's soundtrack) and great job performing. I think playing strings especially is a great skill since MIDI strings are always really hard to get sounding real from my experience.

From a mixing point of view, I think if you automated the volume of the violin vs piano at some sections where one or the other could take the foreground, that would stop it from overlapping a bit. Either that or you could pan them slightly off centre, one left one right.

Overall, cool track, good job. The arrangement is really cool.

Woah i didn麓t know this melody, it is another level with no doubts. The musical performance brings much more expression and i'm very grateful to hear it. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

Great to hear an entry played with live instruments!

I鈥檓 not familiar with Castlevania soundtrack, but I must say I prefer the charm of this version over the original (for general everyday listening).

Nice job, and thanks for joining our Tune Jam!

Love that you entered a real recording, did not expect that. Acoustic solo instruments are regularly a hassle to record, so hats off to you for pulling of an enjoyable performance!

I think it sounds a bit dry and direct, maybe that's intentional. But try a little (or a lot *g*) of reverb on your tracks or on the master and see if you like it. This might just be the missing thing you are looking for, it normally mellows everything out a bit and blends the whole arrangement together.

Also not rating this entry because of cover, but I really enjoyed it!

I鈥檓 very impressed with the quality of the recording. There is little to no ambient or artifactual noise. You have a skill in your musicality as the way you play the melody shows that you are really feeling what the music is saying. Great cover - I look forward to hearing more from you in the future! Because this is more of a composition competition, I don鈥檛 think it would be fair to rate you on the categories provided, but I still wanted to offer feedback! Thanks for sharing!

I have a major bias towards violins and pianos so I really enjoyed listening to this composition! I listened to the original song after this, and I have to say I like your version better (but that might be the bias talking lol). Great work!

This is a really cool arrangement! Also I feel you on the never feeling satisfied with the sound in recording. I think you did a good job overall.

The violin is such a good instrument for instant Halloween vibes and the piano accompaniment was really well done.

I would say, if you want to try and improve the sound quality of the recordings, look into mixing plugins like EQs and compressors to tweak the sound to your liking. I know Audacity comes with some built in ones but in my experience, third party VST/AU ones can give you better results. Some free ones that I like are TDR Nova (Dynamic EQ) and MCompressor from Melda Production (The entire free plugin collection from Melda is really good). I think it's really cool that you're trying to get better and I'm rooting for you on your journey馃榿

Wanted to use this opportunity to force myself to improve with my toolset and make something, even if it's just an arrangement of an existing work. Never satisfied with my sound in recording, but I've gotta start somewhere! Thanks for letting me enter :)
