very nice, I have no idea what you did to be able to shoot through the screen! sounds complicated! amazing

Developer

Thanks! Let’s just say… it was a lot of math :D

I like the innovation with shooting through the screens, thats pretty cool!

The game needs a minimap though for sure, I could have wandered in there forever.

Also confused about the wooden boxes. Found some keys but no idea how to use them or if they automatically unlock parts.

Well done though!

Developer

Hey! Thanks a lot. I actually really wanted to have a minimap similar style to GTA V but we simply ran out of time, we didn’t have the time to put half the sound effects, in fact we even scrapped the last level of the game completely!

Hey,

There's definitely effort in this! I am a FPS gamer myself so seeing an FPS take on the theme is a good thing! There's occasional crashes with WebGL player, not sure why, didn't figure out any pattern and Itch.io client will not launch the game at all.

The wooden box thingy was very confusing as it felt like it was from a stealth game and this is about shooting(?). It worked all right fore sure, but it has absolutely no use in the game.

I also liked the idea of shooting through the screens, but it also made the game super easy? And it also made the game to feel like it's not a shooter per ce. Maybe this was the idea though?

I tried also to play it as a regular shooter and I know for a game jam a proper AI would take long to implement but it would have been awesome enemies would react to the player :)

Btw: Here's the crash capture. I think there's some floating vs integer conversions that causes the crash.

I still think there' potential here and definitely one of the better ones all in all!

Good job and Cheers!

Hey!

Thank you so much for playing, we’re trying to figure out crashes. I have also added a PC version (executable) for better FPS and to hopefully avoid some crashes. There is still a crash at the end of the game that we’re working to fix. Thank you for your feedback!

i love the new mechanics, and i like the gameplay. definitely my favorite in this jam

I really liked this game, I didn’t get any bugs on play through, which is always a bonus. Some NPCs didn’t have weapons, and it was fairly easy but the idea/concept and execution were awesome

Developer

Glad you liked it!

These guys actually have weapons, they just choose not to use them because pacifism (totally not an AI detection bug)

I had some problem with the game. On the first video screen when you must shoot through multiple camera to get the first key, it crashed the webGL player everytime.

So I bypassed it and just kept going forward in the game. So I eventually got the 3 last keys and wanted to try to get back on track to the beginning of the level to get the first one again.

However the entrance to the beginning was blocked by a cube, so I was locked with 3 keys on 4. I dunno if something was supposed to happens when you clear the game, but hey.

I liked the idea of the feature, shooting through camera to kill ppl. However some stuff like the box to hide into were properly useless to the gameplay. There is no way to even access the boxes without being seen or shooted. So you just shoot everything without using them.

Also the design of the levels was very poor, I was damn lost, cause every single room and door looks the same.

But overall I enjoyed to play it cause of the main feature !

Developer

Ah, the last key you're missing is actually on the stairs. There's a 2 screen thing there. I don't think there are any softlocks, you can even shoot your way out of a locked cell

Yeah, we got a bit too overzealous with the scale of the game and had to do a 180 in the last two days just to finish it, so a lot of the mechanics weren't fleshed out. Same goes for the visual side.

It had one unique mechanic which was used poorly. The gameplay felt long and unfair, as the enemies just kept walking towards me. It did moderately fit the theme, as it was built into it. Overall not very fun. Thank you for sharing it.

Developer

The original idea was to iterate upon the screen mechanic and incorporate it into more of a puzzle environment, but we had to shift focus late into development. What would make the game more fun in your opinion?
