how do you get the 4 and 5 endings I'm so confused, also your game is really fun.
Thank you for playing and for the kind words, I really appreciate it!
Those two are kind of joke endings, but you can get them if you really want.
Don’t read further if you want to find out the endings on your own!
To get the 4th ending, start the game and don’t attempt to jump to the second island for 10 minutes.
To get the 5th ending you have to be lucky, there’s a 1 in 1000 chance to get it when pressing any pedestal button.
Nothing interesting happens on those endings, you just get the ending screen with some text.
thank you so much
Ok, I finally got the 1, 2 and 3 ending.
Very nice game! The atmosphere feels nice, the audio and the visuals are so good!
The gameplay is solid, very fluid camera and movement. The platforming feels great. Every button press feels unexpected.
Great work, congratulations!
Wow, thanks! It’s awesome that you have found (virtually) all the endings. And I’m glad that you enjoyed camera and movement, I’ve put a lot of work into it! Even though I’m not entirely happy with platforming, because I haven’t implemented jumping momentum yet.
You kept it neat and simple and the unexpected elements where interesting.
The graphics are simple but well implemented and tweaked.
Only criticism I can offer is that respawning is sort of disorienting. Sometimes just even turning the camera around can be disorienting maybe due to the plain black skybox + very simple (and repetitive forms). However since the game is short that doesn't present any trouble.
It was fun to play while it lasted, I would have liked to see more, but it's good length for just 1 dev.
Thanks playing and for the feedback! I didn’t actually think about it, but it makes sense that the lack of objects to focus on can make the game disorienting. Though I’m not really sure how to fix it, given the simplicity of the game. I was thinking about adding some background objects like mountains, but I couldn’t figure out how to do that and get the atmosphere I was aiming for.
How many endings did you manage to find, by the way? There’s one that changes the skybox. ;-)
nice looking game and quite relaxing to play
Thanks, I’m glad it was relaxing, as this was one of the intentions!
Really enjoyed the game! The atmosphere/mood/theme was definitely on point. I like how you tied most things to the buttons, made it very easy to grasp what is going on. Also props to you for getting a whole settings screen in there and bless you for including an actual menu system.
When I got to the 3rd island, I didn't know that I had to use the moving platform to get to the 4th one. Maybe, turning the camera to the "thing" that just activated could help, but I'm not sure how you'd do that while the island is dropping...
I managed to find endings 1 - 3, but I have absolutely no clue where to find endings 4 & 5. I thought that maybe each island would be associated with one ending, but I couldn't find any buttons on island #2 & island #4 Maybe some kind of hint at the end of each ending could help players find out the next ending? Or did I miss the hints? You could also try to hide the buttons on island #3 or #4 a bit more to ease players into the idea that they'll have to search for hidden buttons?
The game reminded me a lot of Superliminal & Antichamber, and I thought that some kind of narrative aspect could really help tie the game together (of course that's a little bit demanding for 72 hours). That way, I feel like you could really provide some meaning to sequences such as the one where "I keep pressing the button but the island keeps moving away".
Regardless, my feedback is a little skewed because I'm not a big puzzle person. You might be able to get more valuable feedback from folks over in https://discord.com/invite/eybtCDR (I've heard good things about the discord, especially if you're into play/making puzzle games).
Thanks so much for playing and for the detailed feedback!
It’s cool that you managed to find all the endings! 4-5 are nearly impossible to get, they meant to be more of a joke. I probably will separate them so that players won’t waste their time finding them. Something like “Secret ending 1/2”.
And you are right, I should add more hints so that it’s easier for players to understand what’s going on. And tie all the endings together, since at the moment everything feels a bit loose.
Ending messages meant to serve as small narrative pieces, but I agree that it’s not enough. I need to give the players a bit more to work with, so that the imagination can easily fill the rest.
I’m glad that you appreciated the UI, you are the first person to do so! A lot of people very much underestimate its importance in a game. Though I still think I spent waaay more time on it than I should have. :-|
Thanks for the Discord link, I’ll check it out! And again, thanks for the feedback! It’s really valuable to me!
