Very fun, unexpected, and challenging platformer! I like how you do different unexpected things like throwing player in the air and making platforms disappear. Our games have something in common in this regard. :-)

I think first-person controls in your game are nice, but to make camera movement more responsive (which is very important in a 3D platformer), I suggest you completely disable mouse smoothing and add an option to disable Vsync.

You probably won’t get in trouble with the Big N due to the scope of your game, but I’d still watch out, they can be out there looking for you. :-P

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for taking some time to play and write a feedback!

Yeah, I saw the similarity too. But my game lacked the options to adjust sensibility and the camera movement isn't as fluid as yours. Thanks for the suggestions!

About Big N, I'm aware that they are after me, but they gotta CATCH ME FIRST CUZ I'M SO FAST!

Ca-ham. I mean, thanks for playing! :)

(nice high scores btw)

Very gutten game, I only punch wall 8x per level, for game is not tricky and I pass on first try. Easy commands, only fools not understand. I not fool, understood first try. Idea is really cool and well executed, congratulations. Noice.

I absolutely LOVED this game. I think it's one of the best you ever made! So fun *-*

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! :)

Clever idea and pretty polished gameplay wise. It does have that try again quality you seem to be looking for and you did a good job "teaching" the mechanics.

Looks good enough. Wish you had stuck to your own sounds. I hear enough Mario . haha. plus not sure how we rate the audio?? Controls were solid. Still haven't beat it but I want to so that is a big plus.

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!

I used Mario sounds because I was imitating Cat Mario. The sound effects are from Mario, but the music is from Cat Mario.

Thanks again for playing and leaving a feedback! When you finish, post a screenshot with your scores! :)

Cool game!

It was fun to play.
Really liked when the player makes the looong jumps.

In the level one, I  completely avoided the control signs after a replay,
on the first run i went directly to the platforms.

The level three was a little hard ,
I could not avoid been  followed by the black enemy
and had to maneuver in the air to land on the goal, but try make that took me many attempts.

Developer

Thank you!

Yeah, the controls were hidden at the first level. It was a choice of mine, but after the jam ended I thought it may not have been the best choice. I should have put it in the player's line of sight.

At level three you could avoid being chased if you are fast. In level 4 I don't think that's possible. The best strategy I found was running in zig-zag while jumping on the platforms without releasing shift to go faster.

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you had fun! :)

liked it! original concept of a mario-like level but in FPS 3D.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yeah, Dog Sonic is inspired on Cat Mario, which is inspired on Mario :)

cant seem to progress after the platform falls.

Developer

Hello! Did you walk around the level? I put some instructions at the surroundings.

My playthrough: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/743149716

Overall: I'm sorry if I come off as harsh sometimes.
I had a bit of a mixed feeling about this game, but I definitely think that with some work it'd be absolutely amazing, I think it was frustrating as hell (I think I said I hate the game at some point, but what I mean is that I'm frustrated that I'm dying all the time hahahahha) but it was definitely fun enough that I NEEDED to finish the levels. However I'm a bit worried about the fact that you used Mario boxes and sounds, I think that's how Flappy Bird got banned.

Unexpectedness: I swear when that black thing hit me in the face... And the first time I was kinda sent off into the moon. Anything could happen once I set my foot on those platforms.

Gameplay innovation: Very original! Can't think of another game like it.

Fun: It was fun and frustrating at the same time. But you just kinda HAD TO beat it. Like I cannot let this game win.

Visuals: As I mentioned above, I'm worried about you using Mario stuff, as they are licenced.

Audio: Same goes for audio. But you also used other sounds, and those I felt really suited the game.

Thank you for playing and streaming!

I watched your video playing, I understood that you got frustrated, no offense taken.

Sometimes some bugs happened, like the sound exploding when you stay at the edge of the platforms. I was aware of those bugs, just didn't have the time to fix them, unfortunately :(. Also, some of the jumps that you couldn't do was some collision problems, so you didn't suck that much at the game, some of it was my fault xD

I only disagree with the fact that you said that is the type of game to play only once. I had some friends playing, and I think is the type of the game that you try to master and speedrun, and get the best score possible to beat others scores. Like, if you look at your high scores, it's all negative, so you have a motivation to play again and try to get a positive score.

I'm glad you persevered and beaten the game! At the end, I was cheering for you to beat level 4, haha.

Obs.: the 'jumping on top of the boxes' was a great idea, even I didn't think of that.

Obs².: I don't think that the Mario stuff will get me trouble, as it's only a small game made in a game jam without monetization. But thanks for the advice :)

Cool. A little bit hard, but original. Like.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, maybe the last level is a bit too hard, but I'm glad you liked it!

Very difficult. A lot of fun though. I had some trouble with the disappearing platform in level 1(never finished it) but the rest I managed. Not sure if I did them "right" or not but I got to the last flag. Really be interested to see this taken further since it had almost a mirrors edge feel and flowed really well

Developer

Haha, the platform did not disappears, it falls down (I think that the first person camera didn't allow the player to see that sometimes).

Did you check the level surroundings? There was a panel telling that Shift is to Sprint, and then if you Sprint and Jump you can get to the next platform.

In my opinion, the fun part is that there's no "right" way to complete each level, but you may improve your score by playing differently.

Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it!

Submitted(+1)

Very hard and frustrating, i guess that is the point tho =D

Developer

Yeah! I tried to design the levels in a way that the player feel that anything can happen at any time. I think that the frustration was just a consequence of that :)

Submitted(+1)

Chaotic is quite a good description for your game. I am pretty bad at platforming so I did poorly but it was an unexpected experience!

Developer

Haha, nice! Thanks for playing and commenting!

Nice one! Love that the enemies don’t kill you by themselves, but simply push you off the level. Good job!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

The game is a bit chaotic and weird, but I still had fun trying it.

Developer

Haha, yeah! I was paying a tribute to the most Unexpected platformer of all time, Cat Mario. I wanted to play that as a first-person game, then this chaotic idea emerged.

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you had fun! :)

My best score: -34 003
but, I've ridden bullet bill all the way to the end of level 3 and 4, so it's higher that should be :)

Developer

Nice! Yeah, you can 'glitch' your way through the level, but then your score would be low (or even negative). I think that the fun part is to memorize and master each level's "Unexpectedness" and score as high as possible.

Anyway, thank you for your feedback!
