I kept falling off :) My advice (if you're developing this further) would be get the controls down before moving on because bad controls can ruin everything.
As a prototype for learning Unity, not bad at all! Starting out with this in a week is pretty good!

Quick tip: Momentum really carries so I have more luck when I accelerate to a moderate speed then coast
