I was one "big money, big prizes! I love it!" away from sending Midway after you for copyright infringement (not really).
Loved it. Excellent Smash TV 'em-up, really solid engine and controls (even kept to that SNES-style buttons-for-shooting thing), great context wrapping in the story there, fun cameos, just generally excellent.
Amaing, glad you liked it. I was totally going for a Smash TV clone
Great game, it took me back to Arcade's time, music is wonderful selected and art reminds me of retro sierra graphic adventure games.
It really took me back to that time!!!
thanks for playing
Great game, great audio, loved the collectibles! Well done!
glad you had fun
AMAZING graphics!
thanks
A bit surprised, I was expecting a side scroller beat em up because of the intro but in the end I enjoyed the game. Liked a lot the arrow keys shooting it help a lot the controlling and the shooting. I encountered just one annoying bug that when I died some sound kept getting stuck in a high pitch note and the only way to fix it was to reset the game and go trough the beginning again and again, other wise cool game.
thanks for playing. I didnt notice that bug but thanks for bringing it to my attention.
On my mac, the portal scene is so heavy it freezes my computer. Firefox and Safari :/
oh no. Sorry to hear that. It was fine on my mac. I use firefox browser.
Really fun arcade game! (reminds me of Super Smash Tv). And the music fit the game so well! Great job. Congrats on your entry!
you are the first person to say it reminds you of smash TV and that was exactly the game I based this on. Haha. Glad you enjoyed it.
As with many jam games, i'ts a bit hard, but the idea is nice, and the game itself is fun so it took me a while to give up lol. The collectibles part is very clear but the there and back not so much, but that doesn't make the game any less good.
it took you a while to give up? Amazing! I build every game I make on the premise of making the player say "just 1 more try"
This is very fun and addictive, what a different spin on the theme. I personally could only get 12 before dying but it was very well made and the controls felt well done. Love the graphics too especially the tutorial ones. Great job!
amazing. Thanks for the review
It's Extremely fun!
I love it!
It's kind of hard ngl, the highest I've gotten is 11/16
thanks, it is hard. You need to use the shield pick up and run through enemies to clear the screen as often as you can :)
Extremely fun and to the point. I love it.
Glad you enjoyed it
amazing also nice vid
This was awesome! really cool intro, graphics, sound and music, gameplay and the theme was really well done!
I got nothing but positive words for this
Amazing! Thank you for the kind feedback
I loved your game! the arts are AMAZING!!
Wish the player could aim all directions, but just loved it.
Thank for the feedback! I'm glad you had fun
Charming and fun! I found it a bit too easy (but I don't think I can be trusted on that since I have a lot of hours put into twin stick shooter games) I also love how the character walks in the real world, he looks like he's grooving out. One suggestion however would be to have characters spawn not so randomly, since I had to spend over a minute or so waiting for the last character to spawn. Other than that, cool game! If you have the time, I'd appreciate it if you also checked my game out!
It was really fun, i just hopped i had more health. The art is great but the music is even greater.
Feel free to check out my game, it will mean a lot to me
I will check it today and leave a comment on your page
I actually really like this concept!! Pretty much perfect difficulty for me with great progression! Well done :)
Would be amazing if you get the chance to check out my game
thanks for playing. Did you beat the game? I will check your game today and leave a comment.
Very nice game, the whole 80s vibe got me from the first second. Could become a real game if you would expand it enough
thanks for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for playing
Cool game! Got quite challenging the further in you got but had a nice progression to it, nicely done!
Awesome game! I loved the intro especially that reminded me of my days as a kid renting a game and being like, wait, what did I get? The super confident strut of the main character made me laugh. I gave the arcade a few shots but ultimately I don't think I'm skilled enough to make it through that whole gauntlet. The enemies will frequently spawn right on top of you as you're avoiding everyone else and that can be really frustrating to lose a whole run to it. It would be great if there was a warning that they were about to spawn so I could at least dodge if you didn't want to implement health for the character. Other than that, I think you did some amazing work and I look forward to seeing what you make in the future! Very juicy audio and I love that the RPG blows up a bunch of people.
Also, I didn't realize exactly how loud this game was so my audio is completely drowned out by it. Sorry!
thanks so much for making the video. I made out most of what you said but man... the audio was loud, sorry about that one. I completely overlooked this. Thanks for the feedback, I did wonder about the copyright but as I was never intending to make any money from the game, I considered it a tribute to the great games of the past.
Also when you pick up the shield, you can mow through enemies and the cars which helps clear the screen quickly.
Thanks again for the feedback, I always make my game with the idea of making the player say... 'just 1 more try'.
