The change in speed caused by the different tiles kind of messed up my timing, especially since you're not confined to the grid. There were a few bugs when starting the game, the game wouldn't start, or the menu started flickering and required a refresh.
Once in game though, the sound effects made it really satisfying to collect coins and reach the goal. I found myself coming back trying to do better.
I think a little more time in the oven will make this game even better. You should keep working on this!
With the speed change, I agree. I tried to make a tile that was punishing yet manageable and slowing seemed to be the best fit but if your timing isn't great, it can be sort of annoying. Thank you for the feedback, and if I might come back to the game to fix up some things if I find time.
A very interesting take on Snake.
So first, technical issues or well bugs and stuff like that:
The music for the actual game (not title one) sometimes just doesn't play at all when moving to a different "stage".
And other than the already mentioned issues in the game page there didn't seem to be any other issue present unless I instantly forgot.
Now for feedback:
The title music is quite the jam but the other track is alright, maybe a little loud but like other games I've tried might be just me.
The game has quite the decently high skill ceiling but once you get the grip on the gameplay it's smooth sailing from there for the most part.
For the most part since it is still unfortunate about the whole speed thing because it is felt, the sudden brute speed change.
Overall fun game once you get the grip on the mechanics.
Thank you for the feedback. I might have to look into the music issue because it was working when I tested. Maybe I didn't test enough though. I agree that the main track is meh. I made the music last minute and I was really happy with the menu music. The other music was harder though. I worked on it for quite a while but couldn't quite get something that I liked as much as the menu music.
Nice game! Did you make the music yourself? Love it. Was a banger. I sucked in the beginning but got a solid grip on the game flow after a while. Solid game.
Yes, I made the music myself. It was one of the first tracks I've ever made so I'm glad you liked it.
It's a clean and simple game. It has a nice balance and the challenge is good. Snakes plus, tried and tested. I think I would get bored after a relatively short time in this loop, but it is easily extendable. The polish was great, everything works and feels right. Good work
Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it.
I could see this expanded with a couple of more tiles and a touch screen swipe feature into a very re-playable phone game! Great job, the song y'all chose was very fun
Thank you. I think if I worked on it some more, I could implement some more features like that. I'm glad you liked the music.
cool idea! it gives me pacman/snake vibes lol. main gameplay-loop is definetly there, now it would be great to have some other variety for replayability!
This is a late reply so for that I apologize but thank you for the feedback. I think that there are some things I could do to add more variety, so if I get around to it, I may make some changes, as some other people have mentioned some improvements/fixes that could be made as well.
