  • Great entry! The project has some great puzzles, and the use of VR while playing as the rat is wonderful. It was a bit slow getting started and figuring out what objects were useful in the cell.

Cool game! I really had fun playing it! Sometimes took me a bit to figure it out but it made all sense afterwards. Love the view change when I'm the mouse ;)

Awesome work for one week!

Hey there !
Thanks for the review. Glad you liked the game ;-)

Nice submission! Cool puzzles, loved the inclusion of the voice assistant... that's something I haven't seen in most of the jam games. I liked the subtle touches to the environment that made it feel more immersive. Overall, well done.

Please check out my team's submission, if you have time. Thanks!

Hello there !
Thanks for the review ^^
I'm glad you noticed the voice assistant. It's typically the kind of things that takes a stupid amount of time for little gameplay impact.
cheers.

Wish I wasn't such an ass and could figure out the mouse part, also wish I didn't get motion sick so easily or that this game had a teleport option. Anyway, your game is featured in this video!

Great puzzles! It actually took me a while to figure out the first one. :P

Hey there.
Thanks for the input.
The difficulty curve is very uneven ^^ Fixing that is quite time consuming  and time was a commodity we didn't have.
That's why we added a bit of "tutorial" help ^^

Jam HostSubmitted

The important thing is that it gave me those "Aha!" moments when I realized what I had to do. So, despite the curve they're really successful! Easily one of the best games of the jam.

Hilarious. Grabbing things was a little frustrating on the Index (had to squeeze pretty hard), and I had some performance issues. Otherwise fantastic game!  I really enjoyed it.

Our games are actually kind of similar, check mine out when you get a chance!

I picked up the soap... but I don't regret it! Baha great game! I really had to think to unravel puzzles! Great mechanic that has a lot of potential.

Hey !
Thanks for the input. we're glad you like it.

I felt like the hands were in a weird spot and grabbing stuff was a little wonky feeling, but that's probably just cause I use an Index. It's a little annoying to bend over and pick up stuff off of a table when lean forward to grab it, it pushes me away from it. When playing as a mouse I felt it was too fast and I got motion sick super fast, also managed to get myself stuck inside the wall while pivoting to go through the tunnel. Climbing was frustrating, probably also due to index but I basically couldn't get past the climbing part.

Hey there.
Yep we didn't have an index to test it with.
We tried to make it as compatible as possible but yeah we couldn't test on index.
Sorry that you couldn't get to the end of it.

Great job anyway. I also picked up the soap and had a good laugh.

Can you check out my team's game as well? We only have 4 ratings right now: https://symbioticparker.itch.io/a-wizards-wand

HTC Vive User here: Nice intro scene, like the story intro. How did you manage to build it that I cant walk through walls? Nice low poly riggs and nice cheese thing! :D

5 star rating sent, because it was sure a lot work and nice to play! Thanks for your submission!

While you are here I've played yours, so please check my game out in the button below. I wonder if you can play it with your headset.

Spoiler alert: Dont look at the soap, dickhead ahead.

Hello !  Thanks for your comment !

Well, we did warn you about the soap...

The " not walk through walls" code is a little piece of code that I did long ago but was essential here to avoid spoilers. We'll have a look at your (and other's) games soon. Yesterday I rested. :-D

Is there any way you can share me your code in exchange for some of mine? Many players just cheat in my escape room :/

Trigger collider, black UI in front of camera if triggered? (inside wall)

Submitted

Jea it wasnt like a black wall which fades after I leave the collider or trigger. I simply push myself back and thats fantastic! Please tell me how you did the " not walk through walls" code. I'm searching for this for a long time. I can share other scripts with you or what do you want :D

Thanks Macchi! I will try your game tomorrow, I have my kids this weekend :p

Lots of potential here, I like the art style and gameplay. Though I can see so much more stuff to fit into the gameplay for future puzzles, hope you continue on it after the Jam!

Hello there.

Thanks for your comment.

We would have loved to include more puzzles but we were a bit tied by the time and we took some time trying to make it bug free as we're dealing with physics elements.

But thank you for your encouragement, the future of the game hasn't been discussed yet.

Yeah it was a crazy week for sure. So much stuff to do for all of us!

Check my submission out too when you have the time :)

The first idea was to make a puzzle with a lot of solution and different outcome where you could screw up an action but could find something else to do. But it was not feasable in 7 days :)
