Really exciting mechanic seeing the world crumble so effortlessly at your will. One serious power trip.
Took me quite a while to figure out movement was mapped to the right stick, so could be cool to have it mapped to both. Also I have no idea what happened when I first loaded up the game but the world literally just crumbled all around me without any input... haha. But it worked fine the second go.
Satisfying prototype for something which could be a strong central/side mechanic when contextualised in something larger :)
So satisfying to tear everything down! Great giant game!! Also loved the two-handed weapons and game physics! All worked very smoothly, very responsive! Also, loved using scimitar to slap shot cars into the ocean <3
If you find some time this weekend, please check out our game “Starship Minis” and leave a comment to let us know what you think! https://itch.io/jam/vr-jam-2021/rate/1145490
Thanks and congrats on completing the jam!!
Lol that's a great game to play after a long day of work. Looking forward to see more updates like adding objectives and more tools.
Quite the chain reaction of buildings when I swung the scythe! Nice to see someone using UE4's destructible meshes.
I threw one car and the entire city block and block next to it got destroyed... lol
I'm going to take a wild guess here and say the developer is left handed :) Maybe offer an option to switch the controls from left to right handed. Some people walking around would be pretty cool, there are so many things you can do to improve it, but with just 2 days there is only so many hours you can put into a game.
Thanks for the comment. We actually only had about 8 hours on it. We spent the first 2 days fighting with the Quest only to discover the destructible meshes won't ever run on it. The stuff we did get working is way more sensitive than planned (we didn't really want the whole city to go boom so fast). I'm thinking of turning it into a real game but I'm not sure if there's enough of a game with this idea. It's a good point about having an option to switch which hand is movement.
I don't know why, but destroying buildings don't get me satisfaction :/
i Love the thumbnail and the Name
The idea is too generic though
Hahaha love the domino effect 😂 Fun game! I always loved smashing things
