Nice idea to put AR in VR! I've been excited to play this ever since I saw your video on the discord channel.

This was a very impressive entry! Great, expressive, and incredibly interactible environment that you created! I loved the little details you threw in, like the safe being too heavy to carry. The hands physics were incredible as well. Great implementation of two-handed interactions!

If you find some time this weekend, please check out our game “Starship Minis”, if you haven’t already, and leave a comment to let us know what you think! https://itch.io/jam/vr-jam-2021/rate/1145490

Thanks and congrats on completing the jam!!

Developer(+1)

You noticed the safe!! Nice! Thanks for the kind words!

Awwwww hits too close to home this one T-T ! As everyone else mentions this has to be one of the most creative mechanics (in VR as a whole! not exclusive to this jam)

Loved it, but felt as if I cheated on the 4th level because of the 'multi-jump' thing hehe. This game's creativity is inspiring! So thank you for uploading :)

Developer(+1)

You cheated?? How dare you. Haha no but in all serious - thanks for the review. There are definitely some "workarounds" we need to improve when it comes to completing the levels but in the end we're just glad it pulled those heart strings.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! We really wanted to tell a story as well as make a fun game. Glad we could get you in the feels a bit 😉

Great concept!

Thanks!

Great concept!

Lovely concept, very close to home which is somewhat hard to take... haha.

The AR in VR is really interesting, especially for me never really having given much AR a go, so really enjoyed that, and the idea of getting a friend to play with online was neat.

One thing I ran into (and I know this is gonna sound rather stupid but) I got stuck right at the beginning in my first attempt as I chucked the phone out the window (lol). Very much my fault but worth a mention, especially as it's one of the first steps.

Also the chair seemed to retain physics interactions so once it was down, I couldn't stand it back up for the life of me.

Really nice concept and a good use of the theme too! :)

Developer(+2)

Thank you for the review!!

Your issue had me rolling on the floor. Hahahah i wish i saw that from outside the room. I can just imagine a cell phone getting chucked outside and then a confused look when you hear it ringing. Sorry about that but funny nonetheless. Definitely will need to be updated once voting is over.

Developer(+1)

That dang chair... 😂😂

Submitted(+2)

Amazing concept! I was worried about performance since you use an additional camera, but it's well optimized with nice looking low poly models everywhere. definitely one of my favorite games in the jam.

Only Suggestion: could keep the screen with the todo list immovable, coz you can bump into it and it would fall and hide the todo list, and player won't realize there're things they need to read there.

Overall, Great job :)

Developer(+1)

I'm loving these suggestions! You raise a valid point. Thank you.

Developer

Haha yes there is the likelihood that you throw the screen out the window in the first section 😂 that'd be awk..

Submitted(+2)

Amazing experience and idea! Great and fully functional stuff in such a short timetable. Did really enjoy exploring AR in VR.

Developer(+1)

Thank you

Developer

Thanks for playing!!

Woooo, i really was fascinating on that cool mechanic! I think that an adventure game based on that, would be really awesome!! Good Job!! (And also keep going with you tube tutorials lulz)

Developer(+1)

We're absolutely looking into turning this into a full game! Would be a super fun full-featured game!

Submitted(+2)

I used a book to blindly catapult AR man onto the dresser and it actually worked 😂

Developer(+1)

YES! Haha we were hoping someone would. When testing the game, we definitely did.

Developer

If you ain't cheating you ain't trying 😉

Submitted(+2)

Really cool mechanic! I had a blast navigating the levels and this is one of my favorites. You probably already know this since my character would teleport back to home.. but going up against the walls and turning the right stick would push you through boundaries. Keep up the great work, I enjoy your YouTube channel!

Developer(+1)

Yea we did encounter that, so added in a fall reset just in case! Hope to fix it in future versions 🙂 Thanks so much for playing and for your support!

Submitted(+2)

I liked the concept behind this! A little puzzle game using AR in a VR world. Brilliant.

My main recommendation would be to put in an option for teleportation. It would be great for accessibility.

Developer

Agreed! My wife tried to test it and definitely didn't fare too well without the teleportation option 😬 Will be adding that in the future.

Submitted(+2)

Not gonna lie, I absolutely love the AR platforming mechanic, however, I'd say it's way too underused right now. It would be much cooler if the multi-jump (which is kind of broken right now if you tap the jump button really fast) was removed and the main character would have to move props for the small guy to jump on. But that's just a nitpick, considering there wasn't exactly much time for designing such level. Overall, I really like the game. Voice acting and story is good as well.

Developer(+1)

We actually built out a whole other floor the player could go to, but scrapped it before submitting because it was too much to test! We'll be adding that in with more AR levels (along with some bug fixes) after the voting is finished.

Developer(+1)

Maybe an easter egg too? Dun. Dun. Dun.

Submitted(+2)

AR in VR! Great concept

Developer

Thanks!

Jam Host(+2)

Great work, and attention to detail! I really liked the addition of the progression of time on the calendar.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! This was so fun to do and we can't wait to make the game better.

A game within a game??? What is this gameception!? Great concept!

Developer(+1)

That was the plan!!! LOL

Developer

Yissss, I definitely forgot I was in VR for a minute when I was playtesting 😅

Submitted(+2)

Very cool

Developer

Thanks!

Submitted(+2)

great concept. and fun platforming. great

Developer

Thanks for playing!! Glad you enjoyed!

Submitted(+2)

Wow! You're a magician to pull off that game within a game within an interacting game game game action. That was a fantastic and well polished game for such a short time! Amazing!

Developer

🙏🙏 Thanks for your praise and kind words! Glad you enjoyed!

First XR game? Hmm.. (Amazing btw)

Developer

Lol first "official" VR game 😉
