I LOVE the way it plays like a really, really old retro game. I just wish it was more complete with music, better UI and some kind of end goal or increasing challenge. I ended up getting stuck going up between two lashes lol. Really like this submission though, simple as it is.

Your games are always something totally unique, cool to see that you're still keeping it funky! I like the retro arcade vibe (This one in particular brings to mind DK JR if you've ever played that). Cool score based game, and definitely follows the theme!

Thanks! I'm glad that the funk shines thru.

There's definitely some DK Jr in there, as well as some Tapper, Tempest and some other arcade classics.

One thing that isn't explained in this version is that the higher up you get the enemies, the higher score they are worth. If I do any updates I'll add some pop up scores to make that more obvious.

This is definitely one of the most creative flowjam games, and I think the simplicity keeps it fun (though it might not be as replayable I guess)

Thanks for playing! The game as it stands is barely balanced or tuned at all and it becomes tedious. With some finess of the spawn and speed rate, it could be more challenging and fun.

I also had some other enemies and interactions in mind but those got cut for the deadline  :D

I really like this, it's super cute! I just wish I could hold the arrow keys to move rather than having to spam them. but it's still really fun, I would love to play this on an atari (:

thanks for playing. I'm sad I missed the stream :(

Originally I wanted a left/right joystick that would control movement speed.  But the spam/click was already in place and I was too scared to change it before jam.

I had some power moves that got cut too. Once you collected a certain amount of dust, you could BLINK and clear the screen. The enemies should drift down at diagonal so it's harder to know which lash they will land on. Also if the enemy hits dust it stops for a second so that the timing of their descent is less predictable.

I might try to add those things if I get back to it after jam.
