+ Sugarcyube's art is fantastic as always!

+ Having three different characters with completely different move sets is wild to me

+ Movement and attacks are super solid and fun to play around with

Dislikes:

- The objective seems less about using your cool power and more about escaping which discourages the core of the game

- Enemies can feel more like annoyance than like obstacles if that makes sense. With so many around it makes it hard to experiment with your move sets

- The game feel could be a little better regarding fx and sfx. The art is carrying this department hard rn, but some more juice would make it so much better

Most of my gripes with the game really boil down to not being able to play the game as it was likely intended. I have no doubt most of these issues were time related and that AgentY is already planning on fixing these . As for the aliens, while I like the others too, the green alien is my absolute favorite. The additional mobility its attacks give you is super fun to combo with, allowing you to style on your enemies!

While a little simple, what's here is super juicy and fun! I love the different combos you can upgrade to, and I especially love turning into a flamethrower and eviscerating my enemies and framerate lol

The 3D is sick, it's really cool that you made an entire game out of it! There a few nitpicks about the perspective, enemy health, and wobbling I would generally agree with, but the fact that this is even working in the first place as a full game supersedes most of that! You're always making crazy stuff for jams, keep up the good work!

Your games are always something totally unique, cool to see that you're still keeping it funky! I like the retro arcade vibe (This one in particular brings to mind DK JR if you've ever played that). Cool score based game, and definitely follows the theme!

Reminds me of those programming courses where you have to make the character  move a certain number of times to teach iterations. Cool concept that really ties into the theme. The gameplay can be a little slow though, and it really doesn't help that if you mess up at certain points, you have to do the whole level all over again

(1 edit)

Surprisingly juicy! I really like having the characters talk to each other to explain how the game works, it's a good diegetic way of explaining stuff the player wouldn't know. I'm sure just a little more time on the game would make a lot of the issues less noticeable.

Fun tower defense! There is a surprising amount of depth here for a jam game. I seem to get overwhelmed by the enemies pretty easily since it's not immediately obvious what their strengths are. (Also, this game is surprisingly funny, got a couple of chuckles out of me)

Woah! The 3D models are super cool! That hasn't really been explored in Flowlab before. The gameplay is cool too, but it seemed a little tough to get down. Really hope to see more of your modeling and art in the future!

Short but fun shmup. It's easy to fly past everything without fighting it though. It may be worth forcing the encounters instead. Also dyeing is super punishing, checkpoints would be awesome.

Likes:

+ Puppet intro cutscene really lends itself to the theme of the game and is well done

+ Interactive music is always one of my favorite things in games, and is super cool to hear in this game

+ Lots of enemies and bosses to encounter, never letting the game get too stale

Dislikes:

- The drawback to being the sumo instead of the samurai being much slower is rough. It might be better to make him only a little slower and give him another drawback compared to the samurai since otherwise it's a slog just to get to another potion

- Not a lot of reason to explore, so wading through enemies and bosses as the nearly indestructible and super powerful sumo seems like the solved (Yet slow) strategy

- Not a lot of feedback when getting hit or attacking

Fun game, and it really shows how far you've come since the first one! The use of iconography and theming keeps the whole game cohesive and creates a super unique aesthetic. It really makes me want to see more of what this world has to offer

Likes:

+ The twins from Terraria are such little goobers :)

+ Unique tethering mechanic. Lends itself to fun physics puzzles

+ Tethering and launching yourself like Spiderman is fun to mess around with even when not progressing

Dislikes:

- Some puzzles can be a bit annoying to get through

- Almost no sound design (Except for the eyes which are perfect and should never be touched)

Cool use of mechanics and joints to make a game that is just fun to play around with!

Likes:

+ Boss encounters to break up the platforming (I like the golem one because it reminds me of Zelda bosses)

+ Wall jumps on top of regular platforming

Dislikes:

- The level design felt a little more like wandering than playing

- Some animations and movement can be a little slow

I couldn't make out what exactly was happening in the story, but maybe there is more to come? I hope the box is able to resolve their existential conundrums on the ways of good vs evil

2 days work is crazy for something like this, really well done! The art combined with the joints makes for a really unique style. I find that letting the beeoids do their own thing after recruiting them usually worked best, but maybe you will add more mechanics later on?

It's a shame cats aren't real :(

(Also, why is this game unironically good??? I suspect it's the wunkleness contributing its power to all that it touches)

Likes:

+ Super polished, and super juicy. The game feel is just really good overall.

+ The voice acting is really well done, and the quality itself of the voice work is really high! I feel that there are moments where it might be a little overdone, but that could also be personal preference. (I haven't lived in a world like this so ¯\(ツ))

+ Really fun aesthetic. It really matches the mood of a more grim game like this.

+ Cool bosses and cool boss designs. This game's highlights are really centered around its bosses (And for good reason). It brings that souls-like energy to boss encounters where you know something big is happening.

+ Interesting lore going on in the background.

+ New game plus itself. Love games with NG+ where it's not just ramped up enemies, but actually adds new stuff.

+ Wunkus. (Wunkus)

Dislikes:

- The contrast between bullets and the rest of the game can be a little tough at times on account of the grayscale and how hectic the screen can get.

- The common enemy variety is pretty low.

- The switching mechanic seems a little underdeveloped to me. The two characters having different attacks is cool, but they seem to get in the way of each other more than is ideal for a fast paced game like this. I initially expected only the one you're playing as to have a hitbox, so both being active at the same time was a little jarring. It's kinda hard to dodge while taking into account both characters, so you end up just face tanking a lot of damage and really slogging the game down. Getting hit with either (And switching characters for that matter) slows the action down by pausing in the middle of important encounters which I feel could be remedied to really improve game flow. This could even be made up for by forcing the characters to share an hp bar, making the lack of hitboxes less important and tying into the theme more.

Super well done, and your work continually gets better and better! This is a fantastic game in its own right, let alone as a jam game. If you decide to continue adding on to it, please add more to the story and world. For what comparatively little there is, I'm already super intrigued! I'll take down whatever evils I have to if it means learning more about these characters >:)

Wow! This looks so cool! I can't imagine the work that goes into creating the simulations here. The concept of an oil based ecosystem is really good, I hope you expand on it a little so we can see a little more of what an ecosystem like this would be like

Tactics card games are pretty mechanically difficult to get going. Not much to see right now unfortunately, but I wish you luck if you decide to keep working on it!

Can't do much unfortunately :( Guess I'll just vibe in my little garden.

Also, the player character must be ANGRY. They be stomping everywhere lol

Ah, a quite literal take on the symbiosis theme:

Likes:

+ Fun story, and having different endings is cool.

+ Rolling is an interesting alternative to walking in a platformer (Though it does lend itself to some jank)

Dislikes:

- Camera is way too zoomed in and moves way too slow for a platformer. Changing the aspect ratio for the game and the interpolation speed would solve a lot of my gripes with this game.

- It's not super clear where you should be going most of the time (Not helped by the camera)

I would love to see some more mechanics in a game like this. There are a thousand platformers out there, so you should always be asking what makes yours unique and why are you making it? The story is a great start at answering that question, but GAMEplay is a huge part of a video GAME! Don't be afraid to shake it up a little and break out of your comfort zone to make your games more meaningful and unique to you!

Not sure how to progress in this one, the camera doesn't follow you at all. Definitely follow @TheBrickccentric's advice if you want to improve

The game being an arcade cabinet is cool, but the game itself is a little generic. I'm not sure how this ties into the theme of the jam at all. It's a fun little game, but I hope you take the experience from this and make something even better!

Here's a link to the game on Flowlab for anyone who reasonably doesn't want to download any files:https://flowlab.io/game/play/2645467

Likes:

+ Great art, just wish there was more to see.

+ Fun concept with using objects to interact with your environment.

+ The character is cool, I really like it as a way to interact with yourself and the world

+ Joints for the arm make gives the game a unique control twist

Dislikes:

- The screen is super zoomed in so exploring takes a while

- I can never seem to finish the normal woodpeckers off. After hitting them a couple of times I guess they decided enough was enough and just stopped taking damage. They ended up harassing me for the rest of the game

- I would always lose the ability to pick up objects after inserting a key to the stone. I really wanted to take all three keys to it, but would have to restart the game. (I'm not sure what the goal of the game is, but this seems like it to me)

Pretty cool concept for a game. It would be fun if some more objects and interactions were added. And maybe tie in the watering mechanic a little better somehow? Not too sure, but looking forward to what this game becomes if you decide to keep working on it!

Likes:

+ Cool cutscenes and animations.

+ Interesting story.

+ Lots of different mechanics and levels to beat which is impressive for a jam game.

Dislikes:

- Art style is kinda messy, so it can be tough to tell what's going on at times.

- The bosses are super hard. Especially the first one since you have to aim your gun where you're moving and the turrets track you like crazy.

I can definitely see the Megaman inspiration. Despite looking pretty simple at first, this game is actually impressive with what it mages to do. With some more practice and polish, this game could honestly be really good!

Likes:

+ Cool concept that really ties into the theme.

+ Fun use of joints.

+ Fairly cohesive style if not a little bland.

+ Interesting prose. Would be interesting to see the story more fleshed out if the game was longer.

Dislikes:

- Almost no sound design.

-  The concept is easily circumvented if you just bunch the two characters together. (The only time this doesn't work is with the lever)

- Extremely short :(

Brothers bound by tail, it's up to you how they will end their tale.

Likes:

+ Pretty cool power ups for a platforming game. Keeps the gameplay interesting.

+ Varied enemies including a mini boss? In my platformer game? Yes, please!

Dislikes:

- Movement is pretty tough to control, but I actually don't mind moving fast. If it wasn't as slippery it would be good.

- No music and not a lot of sfx

The miniboss ran off the ledge and left me softlocked in the yellow room. I know the game is about being prisoner, but I didn't think it was literal!

Likes:

- Pretty charming for what it is, would probably be fun with a friend.

Dislikes:

- Gameplay is pretty basic. I'm not a fan of having to traverse a maze to beat it.

Cute game. "A boy and His Blob", but if it was more chill and cave core

Fun tribute, but I feel like both games lose some of their sincerity having repeated it now.  At the very least reference some of his other games that you didn't reference in the first one. Tributes are good. Stream attention bait is bad.

Likes:

+ Story is fun and creative :)

+ Enemies bounce you instead of killing you. Idk why, but that just seems like a fun obstacle instead of being sent back to the last checkpoint.

Dislikes:

- Gameplay and art is pretty basic

- Camera follows you too slowly, leaving a lot of the game obscured when you need to see it to make a jump.

I wonder why the green rectangles don't like the blue and purple rectangles? Does Cloud Village treat them as inferiors? Lots of questions lie beneath the surface of this seemingly innocent Mayor's character...

Likes:

+ The art is technically gorgeous and is super well done. Almost all assets are in cohesion and everything is pretty to look at.

+ Lots of polish, and tons of juice

+ Really cool enemy designs and mechanics.

+ Three weapons with so many unique upgrades for each. There's a ton of replay value here.

+ Movement is normalized (A lot of people forget that so it really proves the attention to detail)

+ Reminds me of games like "Learn to Fly" with a more action focued core (Definitely a good thing)

Dislikes:

- Contrast isn't the greatest. This game would GREATLY improve with the addition of shadows.

- The red icon indicating what can be scanned is basically invisible. Once you've played the game it's pretty easy to inherently tell what can be scanned, but for newbies this icon is super hard to spot.

- This game is super hard. Enemies gain health way too quickly and it feels really punishing to not get enough scrap in a day. Once you fall behind a day, there's not a lot of hope of coming back from that ad the enemies quickly outpace you.

- The AI for the enemies, while mechanically impressive and cool, are too over tuned imo. While cool, it's not objectively fun for enemies to dodge out of the way of your bullets (Especially when said bullets cost a limited resource). This combined with the high enemy health pools can make combat a slog.

- There's no reset save button! I like trying different combos, but I don't like having to get to the final day to do so.

- Sound design could use more atmosphere and sfx

This game is super polished with a ton of potential going forward. It's definitely one of my favorites from this jam. There is already so much done here which is crazy for a jam game. I feel that a few more days spent tweaking and adding could really flesh this whole project out and make it something even more outstanding.

I named him Scrappy btw :)

Likes:

+ Super cool ideas for attacks. I really like the idea of using different attacks in combo to do new abilities. (Like hitting the sentry to make it send out more shockwaves)

+ Gameplay is inherently fun. Lots of directions to take it and add to it.

+ Attack icons look good and you can pretty much instantly tell what they mean.

+ Funny Sup3r face for sentry

+ Was done in like a few days? Imagine what more time could lead to.

Dislikes:

- Not a lot of feedback when hitting enemies or getting hit.

- Art is pretty mismatched

- Enemies are fairly basic, but still decimate you regardless.

- Sound FX seem to stack and can become really loud.

- No theme :(

With some more juice and gameplay, this could be a fun action game. Until then, I'll keep smiting these aliens with the power of Thor

Likes:

+ The sound design for this game is fantastic. I really like the noises that play when you hover over tiles. Satisfying like popping bubble wrap.

+ The somber ambient music really fits the vibe of what seems like a promising automation game.

+ The art is well done for what was finished.

+ Isometric is tough to get right, and really works for the type of game that it is

+ Intro cinematics are always neat.

Dislikes:

- Admittedly unfinished so not a lot of content :(

- UI doesn't really lend to what you're placing. I assume this would be expanded on, but the icons and sorting seem pretty vague.

- We're in the VOID instead of on the skyscraper as I assume we should be? (Likely more time crunch)

- Not a lot of theming unless you think about what the tendrils might become

Satisfying plant placing sim, even more promising automation sim. Keep up the good work, hope to see more of what this becomes!
