this is so pretty! i LOVE the background so much, how it shifts as you move around, how fast it moves, it really sells the speed and depth. i hope you continue working on this! maybe add some more things to increase the challenge, like little mines that will propel you downward if you hit them! great entry. :)

Physics make me go yes. I tried getting them to feel just right. and I'm so glad I decided to leave the sprites white. Really sells the look I think. Thank you for playing. I really means a lot

FIXED SMALL BUG PROBLEMS AND ADDED A ZIP DOWNLOAD. ALSO ADJUSTED THE BACKGROUND COLOURS TO REDUCE STRAIN ON THE EYES.
Such a fun game which is perfect for mobile, everything is great and if you hopefully add music too it I'm sure it would be even better, awesome job!
Man very addicting I got 908 on my first try XD very easy to play but it gets harder, if there is some music this would definitely be a SUPER AWESOME GAME! Great Job!

I spent all day working on updates. After a lot of players told me to publish it once it's polished. I hope a lot of these games can get full releases as well. Yours especially.

I could definitely see this becoming a mobile game!
Maybe just add some background music and polish it up a bit.
Also, people tend to shy away from installers, the best thing to do in a game jam is to have it as an HTML, that way as many people as possible is gonna play it. Otherwise you could just upload a zip file with the game. You could have one file with installer and one file with zip, so people can choose!
But yeah, I definitely see potential in this!

It is very good! I think you should make it for mobile too. But i have seen a HUGE flaw! You made it an installer and it needs administration to work. Most peoople won't give this permission to a indie game and it is very easy to fix! I am using gamemaker studio too just choose the option to release it as .zip instead of installer. It won't effect your score but it will effect how many votes you will get.
Hmm. That's probably smart. Unfortunately I continued work and no longer have this version as a file and I don't think I can post an updated version until after rating is complete

It was really fun and satisfying. If you decide to work on it a bit more, I would suggest adding a "Press enter to continue" on the control screen as well, along with some collectibles (squares or triangles). Other than that, good job!
THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!! I love the feeling of inertia the character builds up after a few swings, it feels so good! I can't help making sounds like "PSHEEWWWW" every time I shoot upwards. The art is awesome as well, I love the parallax background on the sides, and the character sprite. All that's missing is some nice music and this would make a TOP-TIER mobile game!! Amazing work.

It was fun playing your game. You can add feedback when ever the player touches the end of the circle and another thing you can also add something to chase the player like lava or any element you want to add excitement as well. Well done

I liked the cool glitch effects and character animations. Perhaps some more sounds would've have been nice. Music, glitchy sound effects etc are all future update possibilities. Nice simplistic game though!
How did you achieve that backgorund? I loved it.
Maybe you could add some power-ups in the future too.

sort by layers. And move the x value by that of the player multiplied by negative whatever value e.g. LAYERNAME.x = player.x * -0.5
And the same for the y value only don't multiply by a negative and change the values until it looks right
