Interesting game! I included it in my Yogscast Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)
Super well polished game! This is a stunning example of how simple ideas can turn into a super well executed game. I loved the variety puzzles and the attention to the uniqueness of each character. Felt a lot relaxed while playing!
Im not that good at english so word puzzles are kinda hard for me to figure out, but the art style and polishment of the game is definely a great point! nice characters with different mechanics, and the best one: cute mushy boi xD. Nice job
Really love this game. the writing, music, and art style complemented each other amazingly and I loved the atmosphere :) really interesting and cool application of the theme too. felt like a full game
Thank you for the kind comment!
Great variations on hangman. I so nearly beat the game! I'd left the Well Drawn 'til last (I liked the humour of this character, you'd already proven your art skills with the others so why not!) and had plenty of money saved up. But I thought having 1 remaining miss meant I was allowed to get it wrong once more. I was not as careful as I should have been, and by that stage I really should have been able to guess it. But yes, my only negative feedback is that the meaning of "Remaining Misses" could be clearer. Great game otherwise!
That definitely makes sense and honestly is something I should have known to do. Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you liked it otherwise!
I'm a sucker for word puzzles, and this is a great take on a game like hangman. Normally I wouldn't see much point in making a video game version of something like hangman, but this game here proves that there is much more that can be done with that classic formula. The writing was really charming, and the music was an excellent touch! I'm not proud to admit that it took me a while to realize that everything was an oxymoron, but it was a very fun 'aha!' moment for me! Overall just a great entry!
Kind words! Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
A really imaginitive take on a simple game, and so atmospheric. Excellent work!
Thank you for playing!
Had to use keyboard for level select, but rest of the game was mouse only. let me use mouse for level select. Otherwise, really fun.
You can actually click to the left or right of the screen to scroll through level select, but there should have been a visual indicator, sorry about that! Glad you liked it.
The size of the window bothered me a little, it ends up outside the monitor
The idea is very good, it made me relax a lot while playing, even though I was bad at English
The hard coded 820x820 window is a limitation that I knew was going to mess it up for some people, sorry about that. Glad you had fun.
This was really fun and had a lot of interesting game mechanics. The art and dialog were great, though trying to beat all your opponents in a row proved to be difficult
Thanks for playing! There's definitely some luck involved in getting a decent string of phrases.
Very cool idea with all the different gimmicks, and the different dialogs for each character. My only complaints are that the white-on-black color scheme is very hard on the eyes, and that the gimmicks make it way too hard to beat all the opponents in a row without losing once. The cash helps to mitigate the difficulty though, and the atmosphere is great.
Thanks for playing! You're right about the white on black, I always forget I have my monitors set to easy-on-the-eyes and I need to see what my games look like on a normal monitor. Palette swaps would probably have been a good idea—thanks for the feedback.
Brilliant concept, and it was very well executed, great work! I loved the idea, and each character having a different challenge was great, it really kept the game fresh and made playing hangman a lot more fun. I love how the theme was integrated too, with the character names and sentences guessed - very impressive that you came up with so many unique characters, and the little bits of dialogue they had made them feel even more real, which I loved. The atmospheric music and sound effects also added a lot to the fantasy feel of the game, and the sound effects helped give the game some more feedback which I appreciated. All in all a brilliant game, I really enjoyed it - excellent work!
Thank you so much!
cool idea i found it a bit difficult but i like how each of them have slightly different mechanics
Thanks for playing! There's definitely a bit of luck involved in the phrases that get picked.
