I also couldn't figure out how to play unfortunately, and the linked gameplay video didn't seem to clear up much. I liked the sprites and little icons for the auto battler portion its a cool retro style. the sound design is really nice too, the rewinded voice bit especially stands out, its hard to pull that effect off without it sounding annoying but you managed to do it well. the concept of the game seems cool but like the other comment says i can't understand how to play :( really cool idea for the theme though!

Hey, yep, the confusion is understandable.

I think I got too bogged down into all the minutiae that I forgot to make the game understandable to the players. One thing I realised is the game is too fast so it’s really difficult to understand what’s going on especially for an experimental game like this; because as it stands, right when you’re just starting to learn, the combat ends.

Thank you so much for highlighting that issue with not understanding the game. I’ll make it a point to ask myself “If I were not the dev, would I understand how to play my game?” in my next game.
