Hello, I am a programmer of about 3+ years and my friend is a narrative writer who is getting into game dev for the first time. We are looking for a pixel artist who is interested in joining our team. You can check out my previous game jams entries on my itch page. They are about 1.5 years old and not the best in terms of art (its not my forte), hence why we are looking for an artist. I typically have used Unity & Cocos2D in the past but  am confident in using other engines too. My discord is acour008 if youre interested.

I love the dialogue in this game. Wish the game could be longer.

For sure. Tbh i was feeling the same way playing through it. Unfortunately for us, time was the huge factor in not bringing in an element of strategy but definitely going to do so in the next iteration.

My highest vote yet. Great game. I especially love how you can move your player back and forth rather than just up and down.

I like the look. Its hard to put a 3d game together and make it smooth but you accomplished that. One thing I'd nitpick is that the initial obstacles are kind of hard to get past as a new player. Usually you want to ease players into it but other than that, its my only critique. Looks great otherwise.

Great intro. love the smoothness of the controls and how the theme & limitation are present in the game.... it was a bit hard at the beginning but once you kinda figure things out, its a fun game.

This game is put together really well. The controls are easy to use and feel great, and I love how the game tells you the different ways you die -- very fun. Two suggestions: One, if you could notify the player of your objective in the game, it would give what youre doing a bit more of a purpose. Second, wouldn't it be kind of cool if your player fell from too high of a space, you'd die (unless, thats a thing I missed?)

Great game overall tho.

Thanks. And Mark deserved it.

Great suggestion and thank you. We had talked about adding in an element of strategy but the time constraints really handcuffed us.

I know you don't know me from the next person but let me know if I can help. This would be a fun project to help out on.

Like everyone else is saying, the graphics are amaze-balls. While it wasn't so much the aiming for, it was how the character didn't turn to the left or right all that much. However, top 3 contender for sure.

How many times can I complete the ice challenge? Just once apparently lmao. I like this game tho. very fun.

I love this idea, and want to play it a bit more. On initial try, I was a little confused but I understand implementing a tutorial system in 72hrs, along with the game itself would be difficult. I think the difficulty can be lowered just a tad but other than that... like, bro/sis/sibling. I love this.

I made a card game as well but its def not as good as yours.

Cute game. Took me a sec to realize why I was losing health every time I attacked... Then I remembered the theme xD

For sure, it happened at the first head throw tutorial. I think it may have been the physics of it? Maybe I wasnt throwing the head properly lol

I like the potential of this game. The keyboard layout was a bit hard to get used to but I liked the challenge of taking out enemies. Played this game; forgot to tie.

I like retro-like games like this. The up button was difficult to get used to since 'space' is often used to jump, thats probably just me. I very much liked how health was your weapon in this game. Got a 5 star rating for on that category!

Love the animations, but I got stuck once or twice after throwing the skeleton's head, which made it hard to advance. Look the look otherwise!

The art was great, i liked the mechanics and the music was on point. I think polishing up a few areas  would make this game even greater. For instance, maybe a moving the attack button to the other side of the keyboard and making the space for multiple chickens to cross into the battle arena. I totally see this being an online multiplayer game.

We fixed the issue if you want to try again!

Fixed.

I know exactly what we did wrong. Let me do a hotfix and it'll be playable.

I was stunned by the visuals and the lighting. As most people already mentioned, the controls were a little unresponsive but that's always the hard part huh. I initially got stuck trying to figure out where to go and what to jump on; i think in-game clues could help with that, and I would really like to see where story goes. I got stuck at the grill though.

Anyway, it was great as it kept me captivated. Good job.

Thank you very much!

Great job. I'm sure balancing stats in a game is often a challenge but it was really well done.

Thank you. I am definitely going to work on improving the gameplay after the jam is officially done.

I don't know if I played it correctly but I got through it in like 30 seconds. Was that the way it was supposed to be? I loved the visuals and the music. It was very smooth all around. Holy.

Haha yeah the platform was one of the main bugs. I ran out of time before I could fix that. I should look into how to make it so  the platform colliders go through the player unless the player is on top of it.

As for the end... it only comes at the death of each Boxy Hero >:)

I think everyone already pointed out the shortcoming, but I loved the narrative around it. Would have liked to see more time for the player to prep for what they're supposed to do for each level, but yeah this is a great game.

I think it has potential. The music loop was dope and I like how each floor was its own level. However, getting out the office was a challenge because its hard to figure out what can be picked up and thrown.  Additionally the direction that items get thrown always seem to be the same regardless of the direction the player is. With those fixed up, it would be even more fun to play!

Hi, I think what would be nice is to figure out how the player could jump up onto (and off) the platform without it pushing the player back. I ran out of time before I could figure that out -- but thank you for your comment!
