Neat idea! The movement and difficulty scaling feels nice. I once had nearly completed a room with nearly all of the people alerted, then one of the others closed a door on me dooming me to death.
10/10 would possess again.
Cute looking game! I struggled a bit with the camera movement sometimes and the cracked walls, but it was nothing major. Love the artstyle and music! Well done for 2 weeks effort!
If I was to point out any requested improvements, it would be to have the textboxes be a bit faster. Also sometimes the pathing of guards could be a bit odd.
Thanks for the feedback! Due to the time constraints, small team and learning Godot and pixel art for the first time, we unfortunately did not manage to produce more content.
With more time we would have added more ingredients, monsters and powerups. Would also have loved to add a recipe book for keeping track of learned buffs.
Thank you for playing and giving some feedback! We wanted to add some sfx and music, but left it out of the gamejam due to time constraints. As for the map, we want to make it so its a bit easier to understand the difference between the tile types and to provide the info you need. The numbers used right now are just a temporary tile ID.
Thank you for playing our game and for your in depth feedback!
We wanted to keep the design simple and clean, glad you liked it. The cheat menu was kept mostly so that if anyone did not like the pacing and felt it being slow, they could still experience all parts of our game. This is not intended to keep if we continue working on this project after the GameJam is judged. I agree with the info box suggestions, but this would need some time to change how we render them.
Thank you! We needed to keep it a bit simple for the game jam with special effects due to the time constraints, but absolutely! I would love to introduce more graphic elements.
The timer idea is also very nice, at least for the prototype. A full game would ideally continue to new levels where this prototype ends.
Love these kinds of games! I enjoyed playing through it. The big map was a bit hard to manage, and there was a bug where i could only access the shop once. But i won regardless :) The different power-ups was a cool twist i have not seen in these games before. It was a smart choice having the power-up being mandatory to complete the first level to teach how they work.
Well done!
Cute art and a nice gameplay loop! I made it to round 9. I liked how it was balanced, it felt nice. I had some issues with characters stacking on each other making it hard or straight impossible to target them with the beam. It also took me a little bit to get that the beam does not actually hurt the first slime in its path, only where you click count.
But overall its a pretty neat game!
