Those character designs and animations are top notch! The music, title screen, and overall presentation was great.

Great soundtrack. Awesome title screen, character select, and store screens. Very cleaver and beautiful use of background tiles. Fun to play.

That parallax effect is really hypnotic.

You start the demo with an impressive Epic Boss Battle, are you kidding me?! Just that screen with the great character designs, abilities, and boss AI is amazing. Then you follow it up with a fully animated scripted cut scene, and then a star-field flight sequence. Way to raise the bar.

Nice use of the timeless theme. Fun character, story, and intro... and you have working animal platforms, nice.

Love the concept. Enemy AI is a little wonky, as I'm sure you're aware, but the bug that had another box dying while I was still tiptoeing around made my laugh so hard.

I can't wait to see this thing progress.

Great world building. Felt like I was on a set, and the highway with t he crashed and abandon cars really sets the mood. Alien sprite work is fantastic. Love the little thoughtful touches like the health points making a heart monitor. That title screen is fantastic!

Wow! Blown away, so much polish in this thing. I love the little touches like how you used the full color palette to add a bit of anti-aliasing to your text and HUD. The damage and death VFX are great. Everything has great feedback, the sprite and tile work is top notch, even unfinished and dead end areas you took the time to spell out "THE END" or "WIP" to communicate to the player.

I'm only sad that there isn't more.

Very cool! Nice use of color cycling and 8 directional movement. Now, if I could just beat that boss.

Demo? That's a pretty much a full puzzle game

Quite the extended demo. Good challenge, and the boss was a nice touch.

You're not missing anything. This isn't much more than a test bed for character moment and abilities with a start screen added to it. When it became clear that my work on improving the brawl module wasn't going to be in a playable state in time for the deadline, I spent the last few days frantically getting something simple to submit. I worked right up to the wire trying to get a custom enemy, and rough level layout, but I ran out of time and had to submit what I had finished.

I'll flesh it out a little more in the coming weeks.

That was great. Nice cut scene art. I loved the outhouse as save. Nice to end with a shoot out!
