Yeah I might have made it a little too hard, the problem was that to vary difficulty I didn't have much variables to change, only the map size, amount of asteroids, amount of warp drive cells to collect etc... I tired my best but I can see why it still can be difficult even with these changes. I honestly should have made the easy difficulty be 2 warp drive cells.
Really cool game! It's a little on the hard side but once you get used to the gravity flipping mechanic it's a ton of fun, the trick for me was to think that if I want to go to the right I need to press e and if I want to go left I need to press q, I got 45.64 on the third level, I challenge anyone to beat my score!
This is one of the most polished games I've seen here, the only bug I encountered was sometimes being stuck in place which really didn't matter since you want to always be falling for a better speed, which leads me to the next thing, which is that the falling speed is capped, could have been really cool if there was no limit, imagine the speed running potential this game would have. Anyway the art style is awesome and the gameplay is really good and the controls are fun once you get used to it! Levels are also cleverly crafted, congrats and I hope you do well! I noticed not much people rated your game yet, I don't know why and I hope you do well!
Thank you so much! You have no idea how happy I am you enjoyed my game. About your critiques:
1. In hindsight, I don't know why I didn't make it faster, I guess it's a combination of my vision for this game being a more slow paced strategic game and forgetting to tune values because of the big amount of things to do.
2. I wanted to make a pause menu from which you can restart and go back to the main menu, but by the time I got to it there were much more important things and I didn't have time
Again I'm really happy you enjoyed the game! I put a lot of effort into it. I also really liked your game and I hope you win!
Do you have a big monitor? I do, it's likely because the game is embedded into the site, and therefore people with big monitors see it in different sizes, and this game is made in Godot (I think), in which the default setting for the camera is that it covers more or less space depending on the size of the window, instead of zooming in to fit it in the same frame
I can't believe this is really your first game, this was AMAZING. At first I didn't know how becoming heavier would be useful but you did that very well! My only gripe with it is that I couldn't understand the tension system, I didn't understand with which box what state produces more and what state produces less tension on the rope. I tried to think of it physically but it still didn't make much sense to me. But this is my first 5 stars for presentation, because the music was awesome, and the way it blended depending on your state was really cool. And aside from that the visuals, animations and art was top of the line, was this all made by you? If so this is absolutely insane for a first game, congrats!
Nice little game! Couldn't really see the connection to the theme distorted gravity, but the game was short and nice! I do have some pieces of feedback you might want to consider:
1. The cat's hitbox was a little weird
2. Vaulting felt a little weird, it kind of felt like you were just accelerating upwards if you faced a wall
3. Gravity is too low, the game feels really slow because of that.
Other than that I loved the art style and the game, hope you do well!
Great game!! I absolutely love the animations and the gravity gun mechanics, this is one of the best games I played so far on this jam, I have a couple of pieces of feedback though:
1. Jumping was kind of bugged in some areas, I had to restart the game to fix it one time
2. Flying is possible and easy, IDK if this was intended, but you can just cheese most levels by flying or even just pushing yourself with the box fast enough
3. You can take boxes to next levels, so if there was a level where restricted amount of boxes was important for the puzzle, this could ruin it
4. The game was a little on the short side, but no worries, this is a 4 day game jam.
This game has potential so if you decide to work more on it, please take this feedback into account! And good job making such a nice game.
Hey, this is the first actual game I ever made that isn't a practice project. All assets are made by me during the 4 day time period. I had a lot of fun and stress making this (mostly stress) and I learnt a lot. I'd be happy if you rated my game.
Also, I know the UI looks bad, I really wanted to improve it but didn't have time
