this game was so awesome lol

MY HIGH SCORE

Thanks for playing! :D Yeah I wish we would've given more of a heads up that the flashlight and lantern is quite necessary, I saw a lot of people just sit in the dark and be frustrated. And that's hilarious that he got captured by a car XD I did notice some weirdness with his head when playtesting but I've never seen that happen lol..

Thanks for playing :D yeah there was some more guidance I wanted to add but I left it until the end and never got around to it, a lesson in prioritization for me I guess lol

This was awesome, feels like it has the makings of a cool rts game. I appreciate the way that the units align themselves after an order, makes it feel really official :D

I liked the sprint, it made me feel like I was zooming :D I kept missing my prey though, and sucking the air next to them lol

I really enjoyed the observation and note taking aspect, I think the colliders for some of the pieces of evidence may have been off for me because I had to wiggle my mouse away from it sometimes to find the clickable. Overall was fun though, played it all the way through :D

Nope never played it, sounds like a similar theme though lol :D

Thanks for playing :D Everybody is jumping in the hole lol

Thanks for playing! I can't get over the fact that everyone jumped in the hole lmao. I think if we had a few more days I would've polished the gameplay, like making it obvious that you're losing sanity like you mentioned. I had some ideas with some visual effects slowly encroaching the screen the longer that you stayed in the dark, and as you stepped in the light they would recede back. But like always; ran out of time lol.

I'm glad you appreciated the donut thing XD

The first thing I said when I made the trash hole was "People are going to jump in this thing", and judging by the comments, literally everyone did XD. I should've put a secret down there or something.

Yeah the proximity shine would've been a good idea actually! A lil indication that "hey you're supposed to pick me up". And I wanted to put a lil icon near your inventory that indicated throwing and had "f" but never had time.

I do agree the gameplay loop felt a bit tedious after a bit, maybe some new mechanic tied in with it could've kept it interesting. And in terms of the song, yeah I had the same thought. I wanted to have the song on the menu and play one loop while you start the game, and then have a more ambient sounding song play after that, but never got around to it.

Thanks for playing and for the comprehensive feedback :D

Thank you! I think the atmosphere and the vibe are what I'm most proud of on this one. And I'm glad you played all the way through to the end! The cutscene was new territory for me but I really like how it turned out

Thanks for playing! This is our first time doing these type of retro aesthetic but I think it turned out quite nice, will probably be doing more stuff like this in the future. And I can't believe I missed a building -_- I did a once over to make sure they all had collision but I must've missed one

The jumping wasn't so bad actually, I wasn't put off by the floatiness. I think it's the time it takes to come to a stop after walking and then stopping, makes the character feel heavy. On the flipside, going from a full stop to walking feels fine.

This was simple but fun, feels really good. got 2:17 :D the page looks great too

I really liked the vibes, the music is on point. The environments were really cool too, good choices for the textures. (Especially the room with the tree, that was especially pretty :D The movement could feel a bit unruly at times, maybe too much momentum or lack of audio feedback? Not sure. Enjoyed it a lot though

Thank you! We were pretty proud of the health bar idea lol

I love this, my lil Plabs and I are out here in the alley throwing down. Would love to see this fleshed out because the style and sound is on point.

Thank you! I'm glad that competence was the vibe you got, we're all brand new to game dev and we came a long way in a week lol.

I worked on the movement and kinda just winged it so I appreciate the feedback :D you can actually influence your direction in air just a lil bit, the amount was just some arbitrary percentage I came up with. In retrospect I wish I would've had some people play it blind, because all of my fiddling and changing was only informed by me and the others playing it for hours and hours a day so we were naturally used to it already

(1 edit)

Glad you liked it, thanks for the feedback :D yeah I think when we were playtesting we hadn't really considered that we already knew where we were meant to go, in retrospect we should've had some people go in blind and tell us if the level layouts were intuitive enough

I'm a sucker for movement that feels this good :D

This was a lot of fun. Took me a moment to realize that I could launch the garbage cans, that was a nice touch. I really like the art + music as well, it all fit together really nicely.
