Interesting game, I liked it. At first I thought that the darkness/insanity mechanic might be a bit too fast... but then I realized that all I needed is a lamp and stop worrying. Pressing it once every 1-2 seconds makes the game quite a bit easier :D. Might need to reduce the battery count in the DLC Areas by 1.

Really did enjoy how you have to hide from the spider. It hindered my way of progression at times. The Mystery box was just as I imagined :3.

Though what I've noticed is that in my playthrough is that by hiding away from the Spider, it's head becomes loose from its appendages (once it deaggros) and teleports downwards, which caused this bug in the picture at some point.

It never moved again afterwards.

Thanks for playing! :D Yeah I wish we would've given more of a heads up that the flashlight and lantern is quite necessary, I saw a lot of people just sit in the dark and be frustrated. And that's hilarious that he got captured by a car XD I did notice some weirdness with his head when playtesting but I've never seen that happen lol..

This is a collection game styled loosely after "Lethal Company".

Spider feels a tad bit overbearing and inescapable.

Lootables are really small, but you can still see them on a ground.

It's competently made, though difficulty progression may be tuned to be really difficult too early. Unfortunately, I did not find it fun enough to retry after getting caught the first time.

Come back in January, and try again!

Great game, always happy to see more 3D games in the game jam. I liked the environment design pretty much. Was fun lurking around and exploring. I think maybe here and there some more explanations could have been helpful, but beside that haven’t found anything.

Good job and great team effort!

Thanks for playing :D yeah there was some more guidance I wanted to add but I left it until the end and never got around to it, a lesson in prioritization for me I guess lol

I really enjoyed this one! I also jumped in the manhole lol, and I think at one point when I was shopping the thing killed me from behind. Overall really well done, the graphics were pretty good and I like the music, I played for a little while but eventually got cornered by the thing, nearly got enough to buy the present. I especially like how there were a few almost like 'jokes' or secrets in the game. Like how the police car was surrounded by donuts.
Not too much to improve on, except maybe making it more clear with some things, such as when you are losing sanity, or when you are killed by the thing. Overall great game though!

Thanks for playing! I can't get over the fact that everyone jumped in the hole lmao. I think if we had a few more days I would've polished the gameplay, like making it obvious that you're losing sanity like you mentioned. I had some ideas with some visual effects slowly encroaching the screen the longer that you stayed in the dark, and as you stepped in the light they would recede back. But like always; ran out of time lol.

I'm glad you appreciated the donut thing XD

I jumped into the manhole. RIP. 😂

Cool game and nice graphics - reminded me of Dogday* for some reason. I was looking for bigger trash at first and missed all the cups etc - maybe they could shine when you are close. Also had to try almost all keys before I realized it's 'F' to throw -- maybe it was written somewhere and I didn't read though, so that could be on me.

I gave up after a couple of tries because I simply couldn't bring myself to collect more trash, it got a bit tedious, but I definitely enjoyed avoiding the... Thing. I think that part could be expanded on. The music felt a bit unfitting, although it could work well for the start of the game.

Developer(+1)

The first thing I said when I made the trash hole was "People are going to jump in this thing", and judging by the comments, literally everyone did XD. I should've put a secret down there or something.

Yeah the proximity shine would've been a good idea actually! A lil indication that "hey you're supposed to pick me up". And I wanted to put a lil icon near your inventory that indicated throwing and had "f" but never had time.

I do agree the gameplay loop felt a bit tedious after a bit, maybe some new mechanic tied in with it could've kept it interesting. And in terms of the song, yeah I had the same thought. I wanted to have the song on the menu and play one loop while you start the game, and then have a more ambient sounding song play after that, but never got around to it.

Thanks for playing and for the comprehensive feedback :D

One of the best looking games I've played from this jam so far. Really great atmosphere, love the lighting and the low-poly models. The spider looking robot themes and the wolf guy are especially on point. The gameplay is solid and actually reminds me of this one roblox game funnily enough. Having parts of the map locked behind a paywall adds a nice feeling of progression even though the game is short. I was NOT expecting that ending lmao. Great job on the cutscene especially!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I think the atmosphere and the vibe are what I'm most proud of on this one. And I'm glad you played all the way through to the end! The cutscene was new territory for me but I really like how it turned out

You did a great job! Weird question but have you played live in a back alley simulator on roblox? There are some very strange parallels between it and your game lol.

Developer(+1)

Nope never played it, sounds like a similar theme though lol :D

Woah, what a game. First off, the aesthetics hit me real hard, with the mood, graphics and music, giving me serious nostalgia. Gameplay loop was interesting. Oversights here and there, like missing collision on a building and getting stuck in the hole. Overall, I really enjoyed my time!

Developer

Thanks for playing! This is our first time doing these type of retro aesthetic but I think it turned out quite nice, will probably be doing more stuff like this in the future. And I can't believe I missed a building -_- I did a once over to make sure they all had collision but I must've missed one
