Very interesting take on turn-based combat. The overall UI/interactions need a bit more tightening up, I felt like I had to re-select things a lot since they didn't work the first time. Also I wasn't expecting friendly-fire to be on, made me almost not want to use anyone but good ol' d20. Would love to see a more polished version of this though, with some more distinction between the dice beyond health/damage. Well done :)
Cool idea! Love how each of the three characters has a distinct personality. :) The UI is a bit clumsy though: it's difficult to select a specific character when multiple of them stand close to each other and a radial menu around the character for selecting an attack would've probably worked better. I also would have loved numeric HP values and a minimum/maximum damage range for each attack to better gauge the impact of my actions in advance. Currently your success is mostly determined how lucky you're with the rolls of the more powerful attacks. I liked how important positioning of your characters is, even though I think that might have worked even better with grid-based movement (which would also solve the issue of hard to select characters as they couldn't overlap anymore).
In my first run I ran into a bug where my turn wouldn't end. I guess it was because I accidentally killed off my healer before moving it and then the game kept waiting for me to move it?
Cool concept, and a well made game.
Great music. Art is nice too, though the environments look a bit bland with just the ground tiles.
This is a fun well polished fighting game that is fun and interesting.
Good job!
Nicely done!
Have different die that 'roll' to deal damage/effects against cards (that also fit into the theme cause their association with gambling/luck) was a very good take on the theme and implemented pretty well too! I appreciated that each die wasn't just damage based but had its own skills, the percent chance for each being based off its die though. Nice!
My only critic of the game is the UI, if there was a faster way to navigate the UI or interact with the game, that would have been fantastic! But I understand it's a 48 hour jam and that your primary focus was on game play (which I agree with). If you decide to keep working on it, I would definitely start with the UI/Art. I would also pick a song that looped a little bit better.
Overall though, very impressive! Way to get in different AI behavior too!
This combat system is so cool and interesting. I would love to see this fleshed out even more; I think it could be something really special. The art is simple and charming and the music phenomenal. Awesome stuff.
I enjoyed playing this quite a bit. Sadly I 1-shot Berserk'd my entire team right before the king. Oops.
The game has a lot depth to it. In a way it reminds me of doing dungeons and raids back in the WoW vanilla days.
The fact that movement is free-form instead of grid based makes positioning and tactics around that interesting and playthroughs are more varied.
I'm sure you're aware of the issues around the UI when all the characters are clumped up but I'd suggest adding character portraits to select them instead of having to select them by clicking on them in the playfield.
I had a lot of fun with this!
Love the gameplay, it was nice and simple. the concept was super original and fit the theme really well !! Great work Overall !! :D
Super cute! I love the diverse range of characters and each of them seems to have their own personality as well! The attack moves are surprisingly strategic as I also need to plan them in 2D space. A very lighthearted and relaxing game in a sea of clunky mess (mine included). Well done!
Thanks for submitting your game to the stream, here's the interview; https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1539011948
Interesting game! The idea is really unique and the art and music are both great. I love the animation of the spinning dice when attacking, and the special effects of each character is really neat! I do think one thing that could be more clear is the custom cursor, as I felt like it was a bit off-center so I was constantly misclicking the buttons and characters when attacking, which was a bit frustrating. I think it's because usually I'd assume the pointer is at the middle of the cursor image (or at least the default cursor points at where the pointer is), so having the left arm of the dice be the pointer feels weird. But overall I really enjoyed playing your game! Well done!
Cool Game !
I really like the whole presentation you've put up on the page.
The gameplay is nice and easy to pick up.
It can get a bit chaotic and hard to selct a die when they come too close to each other but appart from that it's a pretty solid entry. good job :)
Very fun game!
I love the fact that your attecks and heal .. affects everyone, it makes you think more about how to approach the fights.
Amazing concept and mechanics! Great work!
Really cool combat system i expected another strategy game where characters just sorta stand around but this was a nice surprise. I like the simple style and cute characters. Only problem i had was that i accidentally killed my healer which... kinda broke the game as it was still technically my turn as the healer didnt do anything yet. A skip turn button could help with that.
Thanks for letting us know! This is something we can fix after the jam!
Rally liked this game!
The mechanics where simple enough to pick up quickly but in depth enough to not get stale over the duration of the game.
I also loved the characters!
Great job!
Decent strategy mechanics with your attack distance and friendly fire. Character art is awesome! Wish the gameplay was a little faster with the menu system. Maybe the attack menu opens up closer to where you're clicking?
I love the character art and the fact that the attacks hit everybody in the area. It really makes you think about positioning to avoid friendly fire or hostile healing. I also love that the D20 has a self destruct ability. I used it, blew up my dude, and then lost the level. 10/10 would recommend this experience.
There seems to be some UI issues. The light text on the light text box mad it kinda hard to read the ability breakdowns. I'd also like to not need to move to the bottom corner of the screen to select my abilities so often.
An RPG of sorts with an interesting combat mechanic! I liked the aoe targeting rather than just straight up picking an enemy to attack. I was caught off-guard by the friendly fire and the healing of my enemies :D
The controls felt a bit slow to my likings, having to re-click every unit then the ability then the map for each move. The art and the music together created a nice aesthetic and +1 on the nice tutorial!

Really nice mechanics, and the art looks cute! Very cool game!
