Great take on the theme, awesome art. I just also want to add that I think the audio was very well done as well! I love that each theme had a unique atmosphere to it which added a lot to the quality of the game. Well done!

I love the concept for the game and the way you interpreted the limitation, I can see this being taken further in to a full game. The aesthetic of the characters and gameplay kind of reminds me of vampire survivors in a way. The only criticism I have is that the movement is stopped every time you attack. I would've preferred a more bullet hell style experience w/ run and gun. Great work!
I appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to be able to create a main menu with information on how to play so I understand the confusion. The barrel being inaccessible from the bottom was an unintentional bug so thanks for pointing that out, I didn't notice that in the initial testing.
Thanks!
Yeah I understand, if I had enough time I would've tried to give better visuals to explain but basically when you walk through a glyph your keybinds change depending on the glyph. I sort of ran out of time and the only way to fully understand the mechanic is to read to description. Thanks glad you gave it a try regardless!
Been so interested in these historical games that have shown up a few times. I'll have to do some research on the Akkadian Empire. I've never heard of it but google says its Mesopotamia which I've never heard it called Akkadian before. Thanks for the historical knowledge and enjoyable game experience!
Seriously impressive that you accomplished this with only 1 month of programming experience. Great work! Unfortunately there was a bug, I assume it was a bug at least, where I was unable to jump while on top of the box for whatever reason so I couldn't really figure out how to get past the first level. I think it had something to do with the collider checks when checking comparing tags or layers or however you chose to identify them. Good luck on future projects! I was always scared to post when I just started, would join jams but never post anything cuz I could never muster the courage. You should be proud of yourself for that regardless.
Had to one up the other post by getting 15 seconds: https://i.imgur.com/7uUU8Tl
This game gives me the old retro doom vibes except 3d with portal cubes. I like how smooth the controls are as well.
The controls were very fluid and the level design was great! I think my favorite part was the big room gauntlet with the swinging axes. Interesting idea to reuse the same level with enemies and translations to the text. Something I learned from my platformer was that when you hold down jump and hit your head, your character for a moment is still "jumping" even though that's a bit unrealistic. I think I'll update my game to add a trigger on the head the forces the jump to end when my character hits his head. You could consider it a choice but I think it will make the game seem a little more polished. Great work!
I was able to get 15 and at one point I accidentally launched one of the other boxes into the correct box with the box I was holding. I was not expecting that! At first I was thinking, well there is no real way for me to be any faster at doing this until I found out you could use the physics system to move more than one box at a time. Really cool emergent gameplay if that was intentional. Great work!
All I see is this .exe when I download: https://i.imgur.com/hN5lIIK
