Thanks for playing!
Regarding the UI, sometimes it does obscure vision, but the impact is pretty minimal. With time running out, I decided to stick with it.
As for the darkness, I intended it to be hard to see so that players would be encouraged to buy light upgrades and constantly check the sea.
Anyway, thanks again for your feedback!
Very fun! The controls for jumping and dashing feel a bit strange, but that's okay—overall, it's good.
I really love the mechanic of the mouse on fire that illuminates the darkness and can light up candles; it's a fantastic feature.
However, the game could benefit from checkpoints. It's really hard to keep playing when you have to start all over after dying, especially in a challenging game (maybe It is a skill issue...).
This is my second game jam, and it's my first time creating a game in 1-bit style. Working on this project has been a lot of fun, especially the art in 1-bit style.
In Light X Leviathan, you take on the role of a lighthouse keeper, defending against the monstrous leviathans.
If you're interested, feel free to check it out and don't hesitate to rate it!

Bug Found :(
1) invisible crate : it can still pass, if you push & pull it by your sense.
2. platform despawn : just go back into the hole. It will reactivate the platform
3. stuck box : the box in this level is stuck and there is no way to pass. The game end here. Really sorry.
All these bug s are fixed now. and I will upload the full new bug-free version at the end of this Jam so REALLY SORRY :(
