In my opinion, this game has the most consistent art style and theme. The music isn't bad either. Making a tower defense was also an original idea. Sadly, a very easy game to beat : I placed a single tower on the last level and upgraded it without any worry.

It would probably work on balancing the game a bit more and as the other comment said, add more enemy diversity. Bloons Tower Defense is a great example of a TD with challenging diversity. Cheers :)

Kudos to the atmosphere in the game. Although there is no sound, the dark color tones and flashy appearances handles the horror element brillantly.

As with the gameplay, a very standard third person shooter with a clear objective. Although I won't praise its originality, I cannot undermine its execution. The controls are what you expect from a regular TPS along with some neat IK for the firearm (I see you, Unity IK Animation Package, sir), and a fair hitscan detection system. As with every loss, I never felt fooled by the game, it is I who, always, ended up being, the fool.

Let's talk deaths, shall we? The game is unfair! I'm not a great player, but I am pretty sure that restarting at the beginning hinders the player's experience. I wouldn't have underestimated the addition of checkpoints here. It tainted my overall experience with frustration since I was torn between discovering the game's ending and throwing my PC off the window.  Fortunately, I chose the former

The well implemented drone mechanic is great. The camera switch with the simple Post-Processing does the trick for me, and switching between both  views until it became second nature felt like a natural progression. Plus, the drone's movement felt consistent. Side note : The enemy visibility is still on after one frame, thus revealing their positions in the character's view.

With the deaths set aside, I'd say that it's a good game.

Connecting spaceships. Definetly checks with the theme.

As with the gameplay, very chaotic indeed! I found interesting the idea of choosing who docks and who... does not. Rotating the ship was smooth and the controls felt responsive.

The upgrade system is very neat! Couldn't have cleared the game without it.

Liked the one-bit artstyle, it felt crisp and consistent.

And I felt the learning curve was satisfying as you figure out which ship lands in which bay and how much space I had to deal with (get it, space? nvm).

Speaking of bays, I wished the pods and ships had more intuitivity put together. I understand that the ships seem to fit with one another (sort of like Tetris of Lego blocks), but I found it hard to distinguish some of the pods.

Also, big minus, I couldn't finish the game! Otherwise, neat concept, great execution.

(For the review I lasted till' round 13)

By far the entry that respected the theme the most (along with Space Rescue), Battery Survivor takes on an already established genre and visually adds the 'connection' aspect with a lot of originality.

The idea is fine, but the execution seems to lack polishing. The main problem was the lack of diversity in the gameplay loop. I found myself recharging and heading out to shoot repeatedly until the round was over, only to recharge some more until my inevitable demise...

I had so many ideas for the game. Why not upgrades? Increase the recharge rate or introduce sacrificial upgrades (better recharge rate but fewer bullets, for example). Maybe turrets? Why not make it a Tower Defense / Top-down shooter hybrid.

Nevertheless, the game was complete and I understood everything very clearly.

The game respects the theme and has some charm put into it.
Also, the implemented replayability is certainly a plus.

But the controls and gameplay felt a bit odd and unintuitive. The sensibility was very high, the dialogue system left me confused at times and the inputs in the game (such as clicking at the character) lacked a lot of feeback. I didn't quite know if I had engaged a conversation or if I was still reading the previous one.

Controls aside, very funny.
