Keys and larger swarms of baddies to make the game harder.
Starting to feel like a top-down techno-Doom game. :D

Solid story and excellent use of BOTH criteria. felt really natural. :)

thank you! :)

thank you! :)

soundtrack will be on spotify soon

I had a whole bunch of nonsense that I didn't even send them. lol!

-Be nice to your sister.
-Any pizza size is a personal pizza if you believe in yourself.
-Never pet a burning dog. (bonus points if you know what that's from)
-These pretzels are making me thirsty.
-No soup for you! / Good soup.

I believe this was all 2 hours before the deadline, too. or at least the night before.

I agree with our main dev. really creative random effects! feel free to think up a few more for us. haha!

I was told to say stuff like, "shield down" "speed up"... I gave them all of that... but I felt they could use a laugh so I gave them a few more.
Glad you enjoy that little nugget, in particular. I got a bonus phrase for ya. "Any pizza size is a personal pizza if you believe in yourself."

hey! I'm really glad you liked my voice acting AND ESPECIALLY my tunes! :D
They will be up on spotify as soon as the processing is done. I'll message you again when it's up. :)

idk if you're adept with music but I'd love to make something for this if you develop it further. I'd aim towards something organic to compliment your all vocal SFX.

(By that I mean I wouldn't use synth  instruments.) If not then no worries! Just really excited to work with folks.

I found this from your devlog.  Really clever game. stands out from the bunch. I also really enjoyed the sfx all being made from your voice... really matched the game feel. Goal accomplished! ha!

wanted SOME kind of music, but I'm biased when it comes to music. could have been your decision to not include any. might interesting to make the songs the workers hum be parts of a complete orchestra. kinda like the Incredibox app.

Great game! I hope mark plays this one

really interesting idea to roll a "loaded" die around. lol!
I like that I learned about your process of getting to that idea before I tried it.

the raspberry sounds gave be a good chuckle. good job on the music, too! hope Mark plays this one.

Really clever game design! I enjoyed it quite a bit. I found it from your YT channel.

thank you! :)

The primary Dev and I are entertaining that idea. no promises though! ;)
(I don't actually make the game. I make sfx and music... but rest assured I'm interested in doing more for this project)

thank you for the comment and the constructive criticism the gang MIGHT do something with this later on. I'm totally down... but
I only made the sfx and music. still fun to hear positive things about a game I was a part of, though. ha!
I'll check out your twitch link and your game shortly! :)

oh and thank you!

I only made the sfx and music, but I'd love to include other types of objectives for some of the floors and other paths that lead to treasure and stuff. obv more guns because more guns = more funs.

I call it the "wave race" voice. lol
music will be on spotify in a few weeks. :)

thanks Pillow! :)

or...  hear me out... what if the golf cart had dice-seeking rockets that you fired to give it an extra boost?
lol! kidding. I agree with you.

thanks Pebbs!
It'll be on spotify asap. :)

clever use of the theme. I haven't seen this form of puzzle for it yet. :)
I think you should also include a "The dev solved it in X moves" or whatevs. might add to the competitiveness. great work!

I'd personally like to implement unique floor objectives. like download something from a computer so you gotta defend it as waves of baddies come by to destroy it. that kind of thing.

but I just make the sfx and music. I can't code.... YET! :D

Thanks, PC-hris! :D

Thank you for all the kind words! yeah the randomness could have been made more extreme to make it actually dangerous... it's definitely one of those "i wish we had one more day" kind of things. this game jam kicks everyone's butts. and I only made the sfx and music. :E

Just fyi... the music will be available on spotify in early August. along with any other track I made for other game devs for this jam. (and one other tune that I made a while back that fits the same vibe.

did you adjust the sound from the menu? you can turn the sfx and atmosphere down all the way and crank up those tunes!
btw!... I'll be uploading every song I made for the game jam onto spotify pretty soon here. :)
I was a part of 2 teams so there's a good amount of music to share.

you deserve it. it's a solid game! I think I'll go play it again, actually.

Thank you! the devs had me making more sounds clear until 1 hour from the deadline. Their use of the dialogue for the powerups is particularly helpful, too. imo!     (I didn't play the game until it was posted. lol! I'm glad you dig my sfx/music)

Unique concept. took me a minute to figure out what was going on. I love the direction you went with the sound. the hyper digital effects really matched the aesthetic. also once i figured out the controls it turned out to be naturally difficult. (that's a good thing, imo)

Thank you so much! :D

there's another one I played earlier that's really well done, too. different vibe and everything. Dev is in the comments here somewhere, i think. that might be the other game I helped with for this jam. idk. hard to keep track. lol!

go play it, it's great!
Dice Gun by Nanto, JustusK, Object777 (itch.io)

I'm totally on board with that mindset.
It took me 10 years to make a career in music; so much I had to learn.
Lately I've found that sometimes there's more value in having teammates instead of "clients."

I totally get it.

You did an excellent job. and in the case of intentionally making it just a jam game... the current length works well as is. :)
great work!

thank you! yeah I loved how the guns were balanced. I didn't play the game itself at all until it was uploaded. such is the life of sound-folks. lol!

That idea came within 12 hours of the deadline.  *phew!
Good call on one of the other devs. I don't remember which one, though.

If you'd like we can talk about that on discord or something. I try not to put my payment agreements in comments because it varies from team to team. My discord is Bronsolo#4491 if you'd like to entertain the idea. But I'll tell you you'll find my rates more than agreeable.

game loop is addictive and the difficulty jump was perfectly timed. I'd love to see this developed further. The brooding music was perfect... however the loop should be much longer since the game loop itself is relatively short. longer songs make short game loops even more enjoyable. :)

I made music and sfx for Golf Cart Golf and CathoBot in this Jam. If you want to develop this game further and want some help I'd be happy to jump on board. :)

That was seriously cool. Perfect use of the criteria. This could be a really successful phone game practically AS IS. I'm sure you got a bunch of other ideas for it if you were to develop it further... but I'd suggest hiring a composer for the music. Not just saying that because I'm a composer and I'd love to do that job for ya (I did the music and sfx for that ""Golf Cart Golf"" game and ""CathoBot"" in this Jam)... but more specifically... I know that the repetitive track would be the only thing holding me back from playing this again and again. solid game loop. super simple to learn what's going on. music is great, don't get me wrong... but I could see it being the FIRST thing to get annoying.

We had a follow-up build but we didn't quite make it in time. womp womp.   BUT I actually don't know if those suggestions were a part of that build. most likely. Our team's code-folks worked nonstop... I just made the SFx and Music. (thank you, btw!)

It's unlikely you'd be able to hear them in the chatter... but they're there. lol!

Yeah I cracked up on that, too.
It was designed to only happen when you get a 1... but I think he ran out of time. (I made the sfx and music)
If I pull up the file and isolate some of the lines of dialogue there's some funny stuff. "These pretzels are making me thirsty." "is that bob barker?" "I eat pieces of s__t like you for breakfast".... things like that.
