the GUI can be better (enemy radar or weapon info) but good execution

(I also scroll too fast one time and skipped the dialog about launching the drone/missile. The next dialog doesn't come up if player misses the shot)

I am still on unity 2022 but I will increase the text speed. Thanks for the feedback!

if the die roll is lower than the requirement, his attack misses; I didn't put in any indicators for that

Thanks for leaving a comment btw :)

EDIT: I updated the build to a "Miss!" appears above the enemy

addicting

adding some variety may be good; I was able to win by just ducking any punches. I didn't have dodge left/right at all.

the art and animation are cute; I found the stabbing more interesting than the drag & drop mechanic.

0/300 from the start is a bit much though

thanks for leaving a feedback, and good job :D

at first I thought the game is a bit simplistic but the art (both graphics and audio) really works for me

the password mechanics is somewhat confusing to me

the way you handle HP is pretty clever, ngl

as a KB & M user, I would like to see better support (e.g. being able to cancel password prompt via ESC or backspace) but thats just me

Nice work

try running away from bosses; they should be chasing you when they are far away enough

some saw blades should hurt the bosses too, but I didn't make it clear.

maybe I will color code them in my next update

I see. I adjusted their positions in the latest build. Thanks for the feedback

I updated the description. Please let me know if that works better. Thanks!

just made this for a game jam

any suggestions or comments would be great. Thanks!

I started off okay but then I feel like I ran out of ideas halfway through the process. Any suggestions for additional bosses or mechanics? Thanks

I updated the post. Thanks.

this is a 2.5D action game with cute graphics. I envision it to be a RPG some day but right now it is just a few maps with loots and some monsters to kill.

the current state is really short and I am not sure where to go from here honestly. Any suggestions or feedbacks would be great.

yeah, that is intentional i.e. the spears are merely sticking out of the undead enemies. Probably not that good of a game design choice in hindsight.

yeah, another person also pointed out the same issue. It wasn't apparent to me until the comments come in :/

there are actually upgrades to improve the player's reach/speed but I didn't make that obvious in the game. Oh well.

yeah... based on the comments so far, I probably should have made them stand out more

(1 edit)

I was starting to wonder if people are picking up the upgrades, heh

it does work a bit like a beyblade if you pick up most of the upgrades :D

the first 2 reviewers seem to think so. What do you guys think?

game is cute. I wish there were fewer "not yet implemented" but I see the potentials

epic boss fight, dam

I tried spamming wands but final boss killed me with spikes lol

took me a while to beat the demo:

  • not sure if this is intended but I can reload the level by going back to the menu
  • the game has a lot of "traps" that would just ruin the run e.g. anchoring weapons or disabling weapons, messing up effects while moving item around etc (has to be super careful each time)
  • spike + rage on bosses = I hope I got a cleansing bomb somewhere
  • I sometimes see the item I want from the re-organizing action but I don't think I ever got 3 energies to do it...

20th floor took me a while to figure out. The gameplay mechanics has actually has some depths. GG

oh, interesting.

some feedbacks:

  • enemy King of Spell is pretty broken for some reasons
  • enemy King of Blood is the opposite; it is basically a free win for the player; (maybe you should add a demon with random stats?)
  • once I found a winning strategy, I cleared prince/king difficulty the exact same way
  • endless mode = lag. I just quit after ~year 40.

I had fun though. Good stuff

what does this do? 2812yc0460

I make the game slow for thematic reasons but I probably overdid it

Good idea. I will try that in the post-jam version, thanks

Submitting your game to a game jam will help. I joined two jams so far and both my games got at least some views/feedbacks.

so making a demo/early version for jam -> polishing the game may be a good approach

weird. I went through the "edit game" settings but I dont see where I enabled download for windows. There is no "windows" icon next to the game.

Strategy Guide

nicely built and is mobile friendly. The intro is pretty neat ngl.

I dont see any technical issues besides small nitpicks like "E" doesn't work for turning but "Q" does.

this definitely has potentials as a mobile game.

very nice style

I like the choice of keeping everything in black and white. The camera effect while stepping is annoying though.

the game looks pretty good and it plays well. Small nitpicks:

  • I think the random dialog system can use more work i.e. the sister immediately start "you never listen to me" seconds into the game and she doesn't care when I am listening to another npc
  • it feels disorienting to go through a hidden wall
  • enemies probably need a combat idle animation; one of them looks away constantly at the start of the idle animation.

I am not familiar with the genre but I feel like this can be a solid game with a good story and some polishes

hmm, the jam doesnt say anything about allowing updates past submission. Maybe you can try different browsers? it works on my Chrome browser

your endless 3d open world can still have an ending i.e. giving players the choice to end the game

I could have spent more time researching on the genre. I thought I have a unique concept but it turned out several people went for almost the same idea lol
