I have another smaller adventure I did for a Christmas Game Jam called 'NorthPole' you might find fun. 🙂

ah I see. Yeah Hollowhill was one of my first Adventuron games, I usually plan for plurals etc. I'm doing more Adventures for sure. Currently working on a larger title called Curse of Raven Wood. Hopefully ready soon. I'm also planning to do a deluxe version of HollowHill with graphics and proper location descriptions and some extra puzzles and treasure. 😉

Awesome glad you liked it. Well done. 😁

Oh thats sucks man. Glad you enjoyed the game though. Where had you gotten to? I can tell you if you were close to the end. :)

Scrape some moss from outside the golden door, take it to the alcove with other moss and grubs. Drop the moss here. You'll need a small cage from a room to the west of this location. If you have the cage You'll be able to get the grubs. They create a glowing, waterproof lantern, you won't need the lamp after you have this.

You'll need the artefact from the lab on sub level 3. It emits a strange signal that frightens off the Sharks.

To get the artefact You'll need to fix the generator.

A really clever use of Adventuron. Nicely done. The graphics are great and the sound effects are a nice touch too.

I completed the game. A nice simple adventure. Great for people new to the genre. I loved the little factoids about fungi and wildlife scattered throughout. Well done.

Sorry haven't checked my messages for a while. Glad you liked it. I know it can be frustrating, but that's what adventures do lol. Awesome that you figured it out though. Nice one.

Excellent! glad you enjoyed it. 😉

Hi there, you need to drop the food by the Vent just east of Medical Bay. You'll need some boiling water too, to pour on it. Don't stay here though, go back to the observation room! (West of Medical Bay) to see what happens.

Hope that helps.

Yes you need to ASK, QUESTION or CHALLENGE Lori to reveal him and also get something you need. Also after this you need to ASK ABOUT BOY to whoever you meet as there might be something else to get. That should get you moving on. ;)

I enjoyed this little adventure. The graphics are beautifully done. Great Christmas feel, a little surreal, talking pigeons and Korean tourists ha ha. Love that. The endgame was unusual and cool for an adventure loved that too.

Thanks for the kind comments, glad you liked playing it.

Yeah let me know here or you can email. I can't fix it right now though. I won't be back home til next year.

Love the graphic style. Very retro. The traditional setting and puzzles where pure classic adventuring.

Really cool idea. Implementation of the interactive story is very nice. The fact you have to ring the wife to get clues is brilliant.

Nicely done.

Really loved this adventure.  I liked the love story and the less traditional seasonal celebration angle. ;)

The graphics where lovely too, loved the layer usage and flipping the graphics to add people and objects when you interact with them.  Nicely done.

Thanks for that. Glad you're liking it. 6 out of 7 is impressive present count. Sprouts are an important mission to access the sleigh. ;)

Thats awesome Rich. Just caught up watching it. Was great seeing someone playing. Loved that you were getting the humour and vibe too. :)

My only advice would be ASK more questions of the characters might help more (indeed its necessary for finding a Present) or indeed type HELP as there are lots of hints throughout too. ;)

Spoke too soon. NOW its fixed and uploaded. lol. Super Super minor tweak. Done.

Uploaded probably the final version candidate. Unless it has a game breaking bug. I did a playthrough and it seemed good. ;) Fingers crossed.

Added probably the final candidate. Ver 1.0.2
Many minor additions and tweaks as per feedback. Many thanks. I may get a chance to do final tweaks later, but unlikely unless it's game breaking.

Thanks for the Transcript... extremely useful. I'll be doing a final pass today and implementing some minor changes going by your playthough to make it flow better (especially the Sleigh -> Santa part).

Added a couple of new responses around the Dark Forest location after feedback. Ver.1.0.1

You could email it to me if you want... john(dot)blythe5@virginmedia(dot)com

In the Screen part of the Themes section I have:

experimental_paper_section_corner_rounding = 5

:)

Awesome.... Sprout Mission is GO! ha ha ha

Awesome, hope you like it. :)

I've done a play through and I can finish it. Woot. So its live now.  Have a play if you want, of course any feedback (bugs in particular) let me know. I have a few days to do some fixes. :)

Cheers mate. Hopefully I can finish it in time. ;)

Well for speed I spent some time creating elements for the scenes. For example a window, wooden column, back wall etc. Probably takes an hour. Then creating multiple scenes from that is relatively quick, just have to concentrate on any unique objects in the scene after that. It can still take 30min - hour depending if you've decided to  draw 3 elves in the scene or not ;) lol

That's right, Adventuron has used some of my work as examples. I do tend to have a very cartoon style when it comes to hand drawn art. It is pretty recognizable lol. Thanks for compliment. I will eventually get back to my previous adventure which I've been adding graphics too, but it was slow going, I'll finish it one day.

All but three locations have graphics now. Had a major push today and got 5 locations done, which is good going for me. lol. Changed the font too, to something more readable I think. Still looks chunky and fun though. :) Just got to get that last quarter of the adventure done. It's close now. I'm away after the 18th so I've got to get it done by then.

Nice clean graphic style Garry. Looks very nice. I actually like the font. Very clean and readable. I'm thinking of changing  mine as I feel its quite hard to read. Cool stuff though.

2 word classic Verb/Noun although it will recognize longer ones like ASK BOY or you could have ASK ABOUT BOY that kind of thing.

60 - 70 mins with only 8 locations! Now that sounds like an intense and packed game :D Cool. Time limits are subjective I guess, depends how good a problem solver the player is. It'll probably take me 6 - 7 days LOL Sounds intriguing though.

I do have a fair amount of 'help' in my game. Normally I would probably not have any or very little. Adventures I used to play had none at all. That was the challenge. I get that nowadays people just don't have the patience or the time to spend digging into a game as much. For my particular game, it is meant to be a 'fun' experience so I've added a fair amount, although I also use it to inject a little bit of mild comedic sarcasm as if the game itself has some sort of personality. Kinda 4th wall breaking sort of thing. I try not to have the outright answer in a game, although I admit there is more of a direct hint/answer in this Game Jam game. ;)

ha ha nice one.

Thanks. ;)
