Rock theme hack and slash: https://divadzeng.itch.io/missinghead

Glad you liked it. I planned a boss fight for the fourth level but didn't have time to finish it.

I'm planning to update the game with a few more levels and any feedback post jam

Great game. However, there are a couple of places where the player seems to be able to soft-lock themselves

Fun and honing my skills I guess

based

I liked the arcade vibes. Only complaint is about the frame drops. It's a pretty minor gripe.

Good game overall and loved the style. Definitely feels a little shallow without the coins/powers though.

Really fun game and a nice take on the theme, my only complaint is that the character feels a little too slidey and has very short range.

Probably the most unique in aesthetics in this Jam.

Loved it.

Good game and a great concept, could use a little more polish. But we only have a month so it's alright.

Game was really fun. Loved the opening cutscene.

Character controls/speed felt a little awkward at times.

Solid gameplay and an interesting concept. The camera was a little difficult at times but it wasn't game breaking or anything.

Great job overall

Thank you. Planning to add more bosses and death buffs as well.

Nervous AF about the idea, but I will

I'm a composer who has begun learning to sing this week.

Thinking of maybe adding vocals to my game's soundtrack.

Very intuitive gameplay and very well-balanced. Nothing felt too hard or too easy.

Lagged slightly, but my wifi was pretty bad.

Great game and very challenging.

I'll have some spare time soon, so I thought I would rate some of the less-rated games and do this: a Rate for Rate!

Pretty self-explanatory, I'll be playing and rating the games of anyone who replies to this topic or has commented on my submission page.

Glad you liked it.

We'll probably be adding some quality of life improvements and a little more content during and after the jam so look forward to it. :)

I'll try to improve the map soon.

Happy to hear it.

The path chosen could have definitely been better designed. Thanks for the feedback.

The map always centers the player, so sometimes it looks as if you haven't moved.

Great game. I like the throw mechanic

Very cool visuals

Inverted controls are the biggest pro

Inverted controls are also the biggest con

Cool attacks and great aesthetic

Had a lot of fun playing it

A little buggy, but not a big issue

Github should be able to pull every file in a directory so long as it isn't in the git.ignore

Godot. It's quick, easy, and 4.2 builds for html no problem

I'll be brushing up the game after the jam. So keep and eye out or follow, and feel free to suggest any more changes you'd like to see.

Really happy to hear that.

TY. I'll keep at it.

Nice. Glad you enjoyed.

Great game overall. Bullet hells are always cool

The sprite was great and I loved the style and color pallet.

Attack patterns all look very cool as well.

Gameplay was also very intuitive.

Feedback (some of this is pretty nitpicky):

The player's hitbox was a little large. As a result, I found myself sitting in a corner of the map where the bullets were more spread out instead of actively weaving in between projectiles. Maybe make the boss's attacks harder while making the player's hitbox smaller.

Since the main focus of the game was on dodging, the difference between all the weapons I could trade for felt a little unimportant.

Thanks. I'll be sure to check out your game as wel

Will do!

I'm down. Link to my game is, https://itch.io/jam/boss-rush-jam-2024/rate/2495628

Great game overall + a nice variety of bosses

I liked the chicken in particular

As for feedback:

Player bullets were very small and hard to see.  I'd make them larger.

Bosses could have more attack variety.

thank you. Anything you'd like explained better/pointed out

How is it going yall? Finally, put the finishing touches on our Boss Rush Jam submission: Disassembly Line.

Brief summary: It is a top-down shooter with roguelike elements where the player fights their way through a gauntlet of procedurally generated bosses. Along the way, players can collect items and body parts to modify their enemies with, and pick new abilities after death that greatly change their subsequent runs.

We were making changes up to the final hours. But that's how a game jam should be, isn't it?

All feedback is welcome. I'll probably be implementing more changes/improvements once the jam's judging period ends.

Thanks
