Very fair critique. Next time I make something like this, I will plan the story out from the start and work from there. This time I focused on visuals and functionality first (I am a programmer by trade after all), so the game didn’t come together as a good experience. A good learning opportunity there.

Thank you for your feedback!

I agree that the game should have had at least some interactions / an ending for the purposes of the jam. Thanks for playing!

Signal Simulator is an excellent comparison, thanks for telling me about it

I played until they started talking about the frequency. The art is incredible, did you use AI to generate it? I was enjoying the story, although it's not related to the doomsday theme. I would like some dialogue options.

Visuals and audio are great. The story is good, although I feel like there's a slight dissonance. A nuclear apocalypse happens suddenly, but the fish slowly increase in creepiness. Perhaps the apocalypse could have been an eldritch horror or something more insidious to match the pace of the game. The gameplay is well implemented, I would suggest two things: less spinning and some sort of progress meter of how close you are to catching the fish.  Really good stuff all in all, thank you for your feedback video!

Visuals and audio are excellent. Gameplay is great, the coloured bullets for zombies is a neat idea. Idea for the future: perhaps the different coloured zombies could have different behaviours (faster/slower, more/less health, can jump etc.)

The classic push-your-luck mechanic (return to base or risk more stars) is well implemented, good job! The black boxes of death could do with clearer boundaries and a death animation, so players know what killed them. It's not necessarily clear what each tile does just by their visuals, although the trial and error with quick respawns is fun.

The setting and story is very flavourful. I like the Doom-style avatar too. The combat could do with more variation - most of the time you can only fight. The time between turns is quite long.

I liked the story, though it felt a little unsatisfying. Perhaps they could have found the item they were looking for?

The combat was good. A death animation and/or health bars might help teach the player about head shots more intuitively.

Very atmospheric, would like to see more!

Music and concept are great! The 'fix' button could do with an explanation/more obvious purpose. The art at the beginning and around the computer terminal are great, I wish the terminal art had the same treatment.

Thank you for playing and your feedback! I can answer why it wasn't working: the buttons you clicked first above the frequency control were supposed to do something, but I didn't end up using them. I must have left them in by mistake! Also, yes you made it to the end, there's not a lot of content in it at the moment.

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you liked the idea. I'm a much better programmer than writer, so with my limited time I focused on the visuals/concept. I like the idea of moving around the bunker!
