While reading the rules, I got a great Idea regarding combat, but I am not sure if it is even allowed so I am asking this question to clarify:

So the combat system I tough of would require there to be no combat screen, instead it would be turn based and largely dependant on movement and strategy. You would be able to walk during combat and enemies follow use items and interact with them etc... It would be kind of similar to combat in games like Hitman:GO.

Are unconventional combat systems such as these allowed in this jam?

originally we wanted to make a game were you had to hide from aliens steal their stuff and repair the rocket with that however due to the lack of time we were forced to use the worse variant of our game, still we did our best trying to make the game as stunning as possible, for example the colour palette was changed numerous times and sprites were redrawn more times than I can quite literally count, sounds and music to, creating 2 separate 5 minute tracks really took a lot out of me ( since I am responsible for the look and sounds of the game). Anyways we are just glad that you liked the polished part of our game :Dd

thank you for your input we tried to make as simple and as good looking as possible

as an artist I really appreciate when other people like my work, thank you I tried my best, however most of my art and assets didn’t make into the game due to the lack of time implementing features

I am glad you enjoyed our game :D

Thank you for your feedback, while making the game we aimed to make the game that we would be proud of so we did end up putting as much as we could possibly put on characters and attention to detail when it comes both to character design and music and SFX.

Thank you for your honest opinion, I would like to add that this game is far from what It could have been simply due to lack of time and our personal lifes getting in the way

Space drunk driving simulator 11/10, would make a kid with epilepsy play.

Whilst the concept is amazing, and art is good the game gets repetitive fast and lacks in level design departament.

While I enjoy games like Tetris, this game falls short in fun department, still the polish on this game is great so I can't really complain. 7/10 would play on an airplane.

I am glad you liked the sound and art, I spent a long while making them, I’d you want to experience the game the way you are supposed to you can find the description of bare mechanics and goals in the game description page.

To be honest this is just a prototype we were not able to finish in time and add all the features we wanted to add so only the bare mechanics were added and polished. However we plan to finish the game and make it into something we can be proud of

This game for sure did one thing right, and It is nailing the GameBoy soul.

The game is charming, graphics are really good looking, however one thing really annoyed me along the way, and that is the fact that there is no penalty for spamming the shoot key

Sound Effects 10/10, damm does that Tskkk, hit different xDDDDDD

While this game lacks in GameBoy soul department, it makes up for it in visuals and game mechanics, you did a great job.

This is very cute Man do I hope I could play it.

An original take on the theme, however it is still lacks a lot of polish

We are so happy to hear your honest opinion about our game and we will take notes, keep in mind this is just a prototype of what will be, and the development was basically rushed in the last 3 days because both of us still had our personal lifes. We had and still have a huge vision for this game and we will continue to expand on it to adding as much depth and liveliness to this game, in fact we already have most of the graphics and sounds for it. In about a months, maybe 2 moths time we should release version 1 of this game, and that should include everything this game has been missing plus 5 more worlds with different objectives and a lot more Lore and jokes.

We are glad you liked our game, keep in mind this is just a prototype of what we had in mind while entering this Jam, we will expand on the idea later, and make a game that we can actually be whole heartedly be proud of.

I also would like to congratulate you with your game, currently it is my most favourite Jam entry (aside from ours :DDD)

Well you live you learn and so you discover what you like. We are glad you liked our game, but keep in mind this is not yet a finished  game, but a Jam version, we will expand on this idea since we had a blast developing it.

We are happy to hear you enjoyed our game, but keep in mind this is not yet the complete version of the game, we plan to finish the game and expand on the ideas we couldn't complete in time

Game is a bit short, but aside from that it has couple of original concept's that sets it aside from other platformers, overall this game is a solid 7/10, if you made more levels and more different levels this could easily be rated very high on the list.

What feels right in this game:
1. SFX feels satisfying
2. Game is more or less original
3. Player control seems fine
4. Game is upscaled correctly so you don't have to look at a minuscule window while playing in full screen

What feels off about this game:
1. The balancing, oh dear God the balancing, just pick a spreader, level it up all the way and sit back and relax
2. The game seems to be aimed to the bullet hell theme with limited constantly changing space, however this game is most definitely the easiest bullet hell with sometimes functional colliders

What I don't like about this game:
The cat animations seem a bit lacking, and pixel art seems as if the game was rushed in 48 hour period with sleep and eating brakes including

My overall opinion:
For a Jam Game it's a great game, feels more like an Atari than a GameBoy, but the gameplay is good, Soundtrack and SFX is about as good as you could expect from a single person project, while the concept is not original Idea most definitely is, for that I must say it is a solid game that I wouldn't mind loosing to.

Controls feel a bit janky and the sound is a bit off, especially the opening sound almost gave me a heart attack, but I dare say the idea for this game is one of the most original I have played in this jam yet, the character controls pretty much the same way as if it was in a game boy game, still it feels janky, graphics are closer to an Atari rather to a Gameboy, other than that this is a great example of a good idea with a good execution in a given time, 7.5/10, can't really complain a good game.

Thank you for playing our game, we originally intended to add a lot more depth to the mechanics and already made the art for it, however we simply lacked time to implement them, however heads up for the full game, it is gonna be epic.

Thank you for playing and rating our game, our intention from the start was to make player feel as if they are playing an old game from their past.

Thank you for your honest Input, to be honest we had a lot more planned for this game, that included stealing from homes and aliens that can spot you, Some puzzles and huge maps with a random starting position to really make the game difficult and compelling, however due to time limited time and personal life we were not able to finish what we originally intended, however heads up for the full version, it is gonna be epic.

Also the reticle crosshairwas intentional to further build on that old game boy like feeling, we also though about delaying controls, but that would have made the game a lot more janky, the shaders and crosshair was more than enough.

Thank you very much for your reply but I have already solved it. Also the link does not work

Graphics and the idea does stand out a lot, however the execution could be better

Me and my friend have entered the jam and have already submitted the project, however, we did it so on one account, yet we both have 2 separate accounts  will both of us have ability to vote separately or  do we have to do so on one itch account ?

As a superior developer myself I can only boast about my Six Four Twenty high score, ha ha looser (6420, beat me if you dare)
