This game was disqualified for using third party assets made outside of the jam (https://gibbongl.itch.io/8-directional-gameboy-character-template).
I've taken a screenshot of your ratings before disqualification for your future reference.
Fun that the color changes, it is a very addicting game!
cool graphics, love that we have to fight unity haha not too clear mechanics but love the sound effect. also loved the colors!
thank you
I played this long enough to get a combo of 100. To be honest I don't know how the block works but still cute little game.
thank you, about the bkocking,i heard multiple people say that, i guess the blocking isn't as clear as i thought. a marker shows above an enemies head when they are going to attack. press the block button and you should hear a sound effect when you block.

Tchucu! Nice SFX! The monkey beating unity sprites is just lit! Couldn't parry so I had to beat them to the ground. Hpmh!
thank you, the best defense is a good offense
Having a little trouble knowing how blocking works but it’s very nice and i like the art
thank you, the enemies get a marker above them when they are going to attack. press block and you should hear the "dsssk" sound effect for a succesfull block when the attack arrives.
Mediocre, but iconic.
true, I couldn't think of a way to make it interesting
A bit hard to read with the limited animation. But beating down unity logos after unity kept crashing on me every day never gets old.
thank you.
I really enjoyed your game, all the stars gave a nice dopamine rush
the attack sfx was pretty funny, I liked the cute artstyle and changing color palettes...
combat could use some feedback since aside from the attack sfx... i cant really tell if my blocks or attacks were registering
thank you. better player feedback is high on the list.
Cute and simple. The combo being based on correct execution rather than time limit is a fun touch. Good work!
thank you, i wanted the combat system to feel a bit like shadow of mordor, but it requires a lot more tweaking
Cute graphics. I like the main character sprite, and the environment is attractive, as well. The shift in palettes is psychedelic, pretty cool effect.
The player's animation doesn't clearly indicate the area being struck. And the enemies don't really have any animation at all. As a result, combat felt a bit unclear. A fighting game needs to communicate the exact timing and scope of each move (this is what makes them very hard to get right).
thank you, and true, better animations and feedback are high on the list
I appreciate the sentiment, and I can honestly say I have not played a similar game this Jam.
Thank you for your service o7
Sound Effects 10/10, damm does that Tskkk, hit different xDDDDDD
thanks, AAA voice acting over here :P

Nice animation on the player character. Gameplay was a little abstract tho xD
thanks, it's the unity logo. so you have to beat the evil unity sprites :P
so i played the game
i couldn't understand what i had to do, z and x are doing something... idk
i exit the game, read the comments again and red the game description again.. still have no clue what i have to do..
at some points, i had this "combo" number going up.. idk if enemies hitting me or i hit something.. couldn't figure it out..
sorry, i still have no clue what was that.. maybe its some game boy reference I'm not familiar with
there is no goal in the game, you just kill the enemies.
i couldn't really come up with an idea for a goal for this game.
Because it's funny you get a pass, but it doesn't really fit the jam so your reviews won't be that great, sorry, but it was definitely really funny!
ps: dude says "a duck" when dodging? lmao
thanks, yeah the theme is a stretch, couldn't really think up a twist on it.
It's good you took part in the jam anyways.
This game is fun, and a great example of Gameboy Soul! I laughed out loud at the combo sound effect as well.
thanks, i did my best on the voice acting.
