Thank you, I appreciate it! Yeah, unfortunately I ran out of time, so I didn't have a chance to add music or SFX. I do like the idea of an online leaderboard as well! Maybe in the future... Thanks again!

Thank you so much for playing and for your review! Yeah, the original concept I had was way too open-ended for a jam game (and also I definitely ran out of time) so I just decided to make it a short one-minute experience. And I agree, finding the theoretical maximum would be interesting! In my testing I already found some pretty broken strats, lol. Thanks again!
What a fun, unique game! I liked the balance of deciding whether to keep exploring and looking for the green cells, fighting simple enemies to gain characters, or just trying to beeline for the stairs. Certain levels really felt like I was exploring a dungeon in an RPG trying to avoid random encounters! Echoing other reviewers, I found the dropped inputs a bit frustrating, and I wish the next pressed key wouldn't automatically skip over the game over screen, but overall this was a super creative and fun game! (Also, BOB THE SCREAMER was too tough a miniboss for me!)
Yes, this is definitely unfinished! My original larger concept was to be more of an ecosystem simulator with different plants and animals, having predator/prey relationships, and you would have to try to unlock all of the different life forms and achievements while keeping the ecosystem balanced. Unfortunately, I didn't have nearly as much time to work on this game as I thought, but I was happy to get a prototype out! Thank you for playing!
I really like the art direction, and I love the goofy concept, definitely put a smile on my face! I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong or if it's a bug, but I played through multiple times, and each time at security, even though I cleared the conveyor belts of all offending items, I couldn't progress. Was I missing something?
This is awesome, thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback!
I completely agree on these points. As I was testing it, I felt like it needed another element to increase strategy and not just cook whatever you want and hope it sells. Unfortunately, with the amount of time I had, I wasn't able to implement anything, so it's still really basic now. And yeah, I totally had plans for more ingredients/dishes, and a way to use money, but again, time just slipped away as it tends to do. =P
Thanks again!
Thanks so much!
I played your game, it's great! Really well done, and there was a nice level of challenge and suspense! The movement felt good, and I really liked the walking animations and particle effects. I also love the idea of trying to get 3 stars on each level, definitely gave it great replayability! Very nicely done!
Super fun game! Took me way back to playing ropers on Worms Armageddon, haha! Really satisfying to swing around and carry momentum. Also, I liked the idea of highlighting the player character, really helped you keep track of where you are. (Edit: Also, thank you for making checkpoints!!)
Had a few little quirks, like someone mentioned, roping straight horizontally kind of messed with your momentum, and a couple times I clicked but didn't fire, although I think it was because there was nothing to grapple to. Maybe showing the rope shooting a short distance and then disappearing might indicate a little better to the player?
Anyhow, those were just small nitpicks, overall really enjoyable and super engaging! Great job!
Whoa, you really did a lot with the visuals here! I really like the overall atmosphere. Also, the faux-3D effect is super interesting; with the parallax it really sells the effect of depth! The dialogue boxes are very clean, I liked the little mouse sprite indicating 'click to continue'.
I think the game would benefit if the controls were tightened up just a bit -- for instance, you seem to get very far from the camera very quickly, as opposed to what you might expect, where the further from the camera you get, the scaling rate slows down. Also, an autofire might be nice, although it might make the game a little too easy.
Overall, really solid, I think there is a lot to build on here! Maybe powerups and a boss fight might complete the package. Great job!
