musics great! looks great! this one is really good :)

Thoroughly enjoyed this! as I mentioned in discord it really brings me back to a similar web browser I used to play with my brother as kids! Brings back great memories. My only critique is the theme, I'm not sure how it ties into the game but otherwise really awesome attention to details like the 2D lighting, Physics and map (which I presume to be generated?)

Really awesome work!

This is a fun game. Music and the gameplay is relaxing overall. The rotation controls need a bit of work, sometimes they feel too sensitive and then other times not sensitive enough. Overall this was a very enjoyable game.

I actually found it was helpful to not have W pressed a lot, just when inclining

Developer

that could be because the back wheel acts like a brake when not accelerating so when it lands I think it should bring the front of the bike down faster, I need to experiment more with the “motor” and see how it feels if the motor is disabled when accelerate isn’t pressed as it will allow the wheel to spin freely. It’s just given me the idea that I should make multiple bike characters that way the player can select the one that feels best for their playstyle, I’m also considering having an acceleration toggle that way the player can auto accelerate and just focus on the rotation, I figure it’ll be easier than getting a bunch of people to play test different controls and add some variety to the bikes.

This game started off really fun, the music was very nice, the graphics were very nice. I just sucked at it sooo much I didn't get past the first bump. For me personally, the controls were a little too sensitive but it's just a personal opinion. I generally suck at these games lol. Wonderful game! Thank you for uploading!!

Developer(+1)

thanks for checking it out, I find the best way to play is hold W and keep as much speed as possible and tap left/right as needed to change your rotation as needed. The rotation is physics based so generally you only need to tap it and it will sort of automatically rotate based on how much you press it but it is something I plan on changing in future versions.

Thank you for helping me out! I am going to try it your way, I bet it will be way more easy! It's super lovely, you could put this in the Google Play Store even ^~^

Im thinking once ive designed all the levels (i bought an ipad pro impulsively mid-gamejam to make art) and have it feeling really polished id love to target handhelds like the Steam Deck and Rog Ally and if im lucky maybe even the switch as I think its the type of game that would be fun to just lay in bed and play through levels. Ive never really played with android devices but im probably going to also get a cheap android phone to test it on haha. I really want to make this game successful lol.

Submitted(+1)

Well to me, it's already a succes! Also, yeah, the Steam Deck is kind of very popular nowadays, and also... you bought a ipad pro impulsively :'D nice! That's funny! I love it that you're so passionately about it, lovely! I wish you all the best ^~^/

I managed to get 224m, not great, but it was fun. Nice music and game :)

I loved the atmosphere and aesthetics so much, but I found the controls a bit difficult, and I didn't understand how the theme is used here (maybe because I barely survived :P). But overall I think this game has so much potential!

Developer(+1)

The theme becomes a lot more apparent at the ending of the trail as the game is a metaphor for life and it’s a 2D game. The controls definitely need some tuning haha it felt good to me but it seems like a common issue people are having. Thanks for checking it out

Oh this brought back childhood memories with this type of game. It felt a bit repetitive, a random generation path would be very effective, but it was a really chill ride, along with the moon in the back and the chill music. The color palette felt cozy as well.

Overall, a nice journey with a very wise ending (for one that implies the ghost rider falling off it's motorcyle lol). Got 500 meters! :D (Ghio)

Developer

I would like to do randomly generated paths but aside from it being outside my skill/knowledge level I was worried that it would affect the distance tracking as you might get a really easy level or a really hard level. Something I have considered is having a seperate endless game mode where you can do that that way it’s seperate from the main game. Thanks for checking it out :)

Oh man this brings me back to playing flash games in the computer lab at school! I was never too good at the physics ones, but I love the atmosphere set up here! 🌁🚵‍♀️

Nice atmosphere

Wow! This took me back to childhood. I spent hours playing BMX on the C64. Everything about the controls of your game brought back memories. Nice submission! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02VKSTQhaLU - for those that want to remember your childhood! This took me forever to recall the name then find. Enjoy! :-)

Developer(+1)

haha I think I actually remember playing that one. My brother had an Amiga 500 and a C64 when I was a kid; there’s so many games I’d love to remake. One of my all time favourites was called Odyssey I think it would make an amazing remaster https://youtu.be/pd9RNZn8vWY

Nice! Remastering Odyssey would be an awesome project. :-)

This is the kind of beautiful game I make....in my dreams :) The lit up character sprite is a bit of a trend, but one I happen to really like and the layers with the parallax work great with it being dark behind and then the moon being bright again at the back. It seemed to me that the rotation keys could do with being a bit more enthusiastic in what they do, but I did quite enjoy face planting the poor guy time and time again :)

Really fun game! Reminds me of the old days

Submitted(+1)

The game looks gorgeous, I really like the feel of the game. I like the chill feel of the game and the music helps a lot. Great game

Submitted(+1)

Whooaa... this is absolutely gorgeous! The use of lighting, the glowing, the parallax scrolling, and the music.

It'd be nice to have a key to restart easier (unless I missed one), to not need to take hands off the keyboard to click the mouse!

Very, fun, and challenging. Excellent entry!

Developer

thanks for your kind review and checking it out l, I believe the restart button is F2, I had to keep moving it because ESC exits full screen and F1 opens a new Tab 😂

Had to play the game on a different explorer  as google chrome was making the  game had frame rate issue so it kept slowing down make it kinda hard to enjoy it so i switched to edge. I really do like the artwork that was used for the game and the music that went with it.  Really interesting and fun as you try to keep your balance and stay on your bike and all. Very impressive game you have here.

Submitted(+1)

Holy shit this game is pretty. Seriously, great job on the art! The gameplay was also pretty good, I used to play a lot of these types of games a long time ago. One slight critique would be that the tilting of your guy midair feels a bit unresponsive, but it's really not a big deal. Still an incredible experience, great job on this! :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for checking it out, I think the unresponsive feeling is because. The rotation is on the player not the bike so I think their is a little bit of a deadzone where the players rotational force has to overpower the bikes rotational force, I think I might be able to solve that by changing some of the weights I set for each of the rigidbodies.

Submitted(+1)

Good Job! Beautiful art btw.

Used to play this style of game a lot back in the day, this was a great throwback with a unique look. Nice work!

Whoa, your game is so beautiful, so clean and polished, and so aesthetically pleasing~ I love the visuals, the music, the combined atmosphere, the feel of the movements, and most of all the more profound meaning behind our experience on the Serenity Trail. It's so beautiful and uplifting, I feel as if you are indirectly encouraging us to continue onwards through our own challenges, reminding us gently of the serenity that is already within each of us... Thank you so much for this experience..!

Developer

Thankyou :) that was my interpretation of the theme, a game about life, in 2D. I’ve played a lot of these types of games and I find them frustrating to the point where it’s hard to enjoy them and I wanted this game to make the player feel like messing up doesn’t matter but having the determination to keep going is rewarded. I have so many ideas going forward.
