The concept is really cool! I really enjoyed sacrificing precious seconds to mow people down with my trolley. I got stuck in the maze several times. I think this game could have a commercial future, so let me share some design thoughts (which may have been mentioned in other comments).
-time starts ticking during the most important instruction explanation, which happens to be the longest. Work to integrate the instructions into the game, and not as a wordy text panel (took 2 plays to understand what to do).
-After a loss, perhaps allow the player to start in their last section via a checkpoint system. e.g losing in the maze, could start me back in the maze section.
But for a jam submission under time constraints, you guys did well. I can see this being a fun commercial game if you guys stick with it! Well done.
Thank you so much for the kind words and feedback! We appreciate you taking the time to play our game. The trolley mowing is one of our favorite parts! We will likely be working further on this so your design tips are very helpful. Thank you for hosting!
Thanks for trying our game!!
Yeah we are aware that the tutorial is not exactly the best part of the game. Unfortunately, in 7 days that's the best we could do... I tried with a paused tutorial too, that maybe gives more time to read. But one of the features of the game is that the music is synced with the timer, so i had to continuously stop and restart the music, and that was terrible. Moreover, you lose the sense of urgency to get to your final gate. So i went with the panels, since game is short, and in principle one can understand the games in a few tries, and just ignore the tutorial at the last run. I agree the game would benefit from some smarter tutorials (UI with buttons to press over player head, highlight interactable elements...). Just not enough time at this stage 😁
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed the game! And thanks for the compliments!
a fun an unique take on the theme, with a cool artstyle!
thank you so much for playing!
I made my flight! That was fun, and I loved how the music started going faster as time went out.
Yay! Congratulations! We're glad you had fun. Thank you for playing!
It looked interesting, but sadly I couldn't interact with anything other than the fish people. I feel like it would have been fun, but I couldn't get anything to work. I'm glad to see others were able to play it though! Good luck with the jam!
I'm so sorry to hear that! Sometimes there can be a few bugs limiting certain actions. Good luck to you as well!
it's fun to throw passengers with a cart.
Indeed. Thanks for playing!
really cute art, you set the mood to be very stressful, while still cartoony and fun. i would suggest maybe a better tutorial, or not have time tick down while you're reading because the first few times i was totally confused on what to do. controlled well, but was missing simple things such as some particles and animations for polish. no other complaints though, good submission!
Pretty unique and fun game. It's really well put together and love hitting the fish people with the trolly I could do it all day lol The art and music is nice and very fitting too.
I think it needs more direction though. After I stopped the knives and spoons etc.. going through customs I didn't know where to go and ran out of time. That coupled with the inability to skip tutorial messages I'd already seen hindered my desire to re-try.
Really cool entry though. Nice work :)
I dig the music and you capture a good sense of urgency. I'm not too fond of when the fish people get in the way. It's also really aggravating that you time dialogues rather than making them player controlled. If you lose you basically have to sit through them every time. Not to mention, since you're trying to rush later in the level it makes it a little difficult to read through important dialogues before they disappear. This might just be me, but I'd definitely prefer if dialogues appeared based on events and triggers but disappeared based on player input.
I like it! Kind of a mini game collection style. Felt like a fun party game.
Great job creating a sense of urgency with the fast move speed. The music was a good match also. Knocking over the fish was pretty fun/funny.
I think there were a few rough edges that hurt the experience (minor camera issues, missing sound effects, having to watch the tutorial every time, etc.) but I'm sure you had to prioritize your time for the game Jam. Well done for sure!
Cool looking game! great music!
I feel the luggage should go a little slower, also the timer should start after the tutorials
I took my luggage to the window but nothing happened
Very 'out-there' game, I like it! The fact you could knock npcs over was hilarious. I do like the maze with the passport, nice touch making it a random spawn point aha. One issue is I could throw the trolley ... into the receptionists, and I'm guessing other places lol, and then its gone for good.
Tourist tuna made me laugh x)
Art style is really cool, whether on the main page or in the game. It was a bit tricky to read and play at the same time (perhaps a tutorial will be better for that). I tried five time to get the plane I never make it.. At least, the game taught me something about myself : I'm a lazy person haha
Very much fun and super cutie :3
A bit too random for me, it just seems unfair at times. Also tutorial is hard to follow since we are such in a rush. But you did convey the feeling of missing a flight for sure haha
Great job! :)
A fun little game, I'm not sure if I actually beat it though? I sent the cart into the check in lit by a green light and the game just kept ticking down till game over. Weird bug, but loved the look of the game and the unique take on the theme!
there is a door in the left side of the room,
It opens after you deliver the package.
You compleated 2 rooms out of 4
Ah, okay, that might have been in the instructions, but I'm gonna be honest, there was so much text in one of the panels I just skimmed it for the next step. Thanks for the clarification!
The presentation is really nice, especially the 3D models and music.
However, it took me several tries to finally realize I could sprint with the Shift key (it's mentioned nowhere in-game, only in the game's description).
There's no reason not to sprint, and you move so slowly otherwise that beating the game is nearly impossible! I would personally just give the player one consistently fast speed; that would make the game a lot more enjoyable.
Also, as others have said, making the instructions stay on screen for longer would definitely help.
Nice job, personally my favorite part was bowling down the fish.
I really enjoyed this game it actually took me a few times to get to my flight. the art style was quite soothing as was the music, my only suggestion would be to give the player a better chance to read the instructions in the beginning as they disappeared a little quickly. Other than that you guys executed it really well!
nice work!!
I love the music, the art, the gameplay (except the passport part-- I didn't enjoy randomized timed puzzles) but it's really good. I feel like the tutorial section wasn't as confusing to me as it was to others. Once I got it, became pretty easy. But it's a nice game. Maybe reduce text to 1 or 2 words and have less randomization in puzzle design of mazes. That's my tiny snippet of feedback. Otherwise great work
Showing such lengthy objective/hint while in a time limited game is not a very clever design. Objective hint disappearing and not knowing the objective making the rest of the seconds left not worth it. I may have been to the airport, but its not like I could play the game like in real-world airport.
But this game does have beautiful level design and multiple arts for lose/win conditions. The character movement also feel really nice and Its a little fun at first to knock everyone around.
The design of the tutorial was a pain, and difficult to balance. One of the main game features is that the music is synced with the timer. My first attempt was a paused tutorial, but I had to pause the music too, and it was terrible. So, I ended up with this choice of real-time panels to read. There are certainly better solutions, such as UI elements on top of the player head that tells you what to press, or other clever systems, but you know, 10 days with a real job, family, etc... no time for the jam development XD I think that being the game 2 mins long, one can imagine that the player will make 3-4 attempts to learn the games, and maybe lose time for reading/understanding, and then do a final run without thinking about it. That's the story under the tutorial. I understand you don't like it, but there's not a trivial solution as stopping the game, to my opinion at least.
Thanks for playing, and glad you enjoyed the art!
