I felt like the level design was promising. The character movement is great too! I struggled a bit to learn the key controls i needed to use, perhaps this could benefit with a tutorial?

i found it pretty easy to just jump and create platforms to go quite high up very quick and skip sections of the map. Might be good to try and restrict this :)

i didn't know too much around the story, other than losing the memories by being hit by the car haha, but maybe some more backstory could make the game more engaging?

This game was soo much fun to play!!

the storyline was so funny! dad always win! always!

managed to balance the sus-o-meter (ha!) just right, but wow! it gets fast as you get much further into the game! such a fun little game. Cant wait to see what you come up with next.

really great team work!

hmm, when i tried to play the game, the play game button and the quit button weren't working?

The gameplay felt so fast! it was very fun to try and speed run through the different levels. It was sometimes a bit unforgiving when it reset you back to the beginning of the levels, perhaps the use of some checkpoints at major points in the level would make this feel less frustrating.

The sensitivity of looking around felt a little bit fast sometimes too, maybe this could be added into the pause menu as an option to increase or decrease?

i could really imagine this being a speedrunning/jumping game and being a lot of fun! :)

The shrinking in size feature was very cool, especially in first person. At first i thought the red guy got really big, and then i turned around and realised that i was really tiny haha! great and interesting feature.

The movement felt great on this! the amount of different keys for each option was a bit confusing at first but i managed to pick one that worked when i started the game. I used my LMB and RMB for scaling as this felt the most intuitive.

I struggled a bit with level 6, were some floors not allowed to be used? i kept being reset when going on some of them. In the end, i did managed to get stuck in the bottom left hand corner of the map near the bottom, and pressing reset level didn't reset. So i'm not too sure what the ending looked like.

A perfect concept to build on! i hope it was a fun time to develop :D

wow wow wow! for your first ever game, this is so well thought out! great art style, music and a great introduction to controls as the user slowly plays through the levels.

i absolutely loved learning about the different configurations that you could make with the dog to get through the level. My personal favourite was the big brain! ha! using this to climb and reach the ledges was soooo funnny!

The sounds are also great!

if this is the first big game! can't wait to see how the next one looks :D

I think this game has great potential!

a few points that i struggled with and i think could really improve the players experience :):

  • It felt a bit tricky to know which direction to go, the map felt very huge, and it felt a bit lucky or unlucky sometimes if you spotted a memory.
  • perhaps having some 'dash' buttons could help to make the movement a bit more interesting?
  • without knowing the timer countdown at all times, i couldn't tell if i nearly ran out of time, or if i had a lot left, maybe this could follow the user around or always be on screen?

really excited to see what this game could evolve into!

A very chill and satisfying game to play. I really enjoyed it :)

just one suggestion perhaps, it felt a little bit difficult at times to hold down LMB and use the scroll wheel to rotate, especially when the piece needing rotating a fair bit to match up.

i enjoyed it very much!

Thanks sooo much for the amazing feedback littoralie!

There is so much we want to do with this game and we are so excited to jazz up the graphics, clean up the UI, make the game feel more intuitive for players, and to work on more creative ways to keep choices engaging and really restrict and pose some fun placement challenges to players when they are building their grid!

i'm really glad you took the time out to play our game! excited to play yours too!

I did enjoy the game when i realised where the tutorial page was. I somehow managed to leap into the first level before doing the tutorial, which left me a little bit confused for a short period.

But once i realised that i had skipped the tutorial, playing through the levels came a little more straightforward.

i thought the placement, wiring and general feel when placing items worked really well, this felt very smooth and looked great.

my main improvement would be to make the user have to play through the tutorial first automatically before starting the first level. i think this would improve the user's first time experience if they accidentally do what i did.

great job and looking forward to seeing more from your team :)

Absolutely loved this game! my favourite game in the jam so far! So simple, really well balanced, and once you get further into the rounds, you really have to stop and think about your options for that turn.

i found a strategy where using the cards which gave additional permanent health after attacking managed to get the card pretty high in health and it became a bit of a super card! that was really fun to find as it felt like i had a winning strategy.

i was thinking that knowing when the boss turns were coming up could help with how you strategise the previous rounds, to get ready to set up.

i also thought that your 'first' main stickman was 'you' as the player, and if this player died then this would end the game? but quickly learned that this wasn't the case. I do like that idea though, perhaps protecting this initial stickman could lead into a nice storyline for the game? :)

i feel like with a tad more story, and the ability to see where you are in the battle sequence (as it felt a bit endless after round 20 :)) would really polish off this game. Only minor improvement, because i really loved and enjoyed playing the game. I probably played for a good 30 mins!!

Loved this game when i first saw it on the GMTK game jam! i like how you have used shadows to fit the theme of 'built to scale' something that didn't occur to me but a clever and interesting way of applying the theme!

It is a very addicting and fast game! i always went back to try and beat my high score everytime i failed. It can be suprisingly tricky to keep track of both the background and the obstacles on the floor :)

only visual tweak i could think of could be to maybe make the gecko's shadow be more connected to the gecko? adding some spotlight type lights could make the scene feel a little less bright too?

amazing game overall and a unique take on an original classic.

Great game! movement is very intuitive. That last jump was really hard and took me a few tries :).

cool concept that i am sure can be built into a nice full game with some more time.

Loved the music! Certainly adds to the intensity of the game and makes me want to build faster. Took me a couple of turns to learn how the game works and what it was doing (particularly, how i could get more points in each of the three main categories). Tutorial was great! Visuals, art and animations awesome!

My one constructive feedback comment would be perhaps to rethink the tutorial part, maybe a tutorial that incorporates playing a tutorial level/game instead and seeing values change as a result of choosing the different blocks? As i found it was easier for me to play the main game and learn experimentally. Although, each player will have their own preferences :)

great great game!

Thank you so much for the positive feedback!

Great recommendation! Combining spells in a fun, adjacent or diagonal way is on the top of our to-do list for this game :).

Hope you enjoyed playing.

Thanks so much for the positive comment TOXUDIO. More bosses and spells to come :)
