Really charming! I love the sounds, sprites and music! Also cool how it’s not always the same time of day! The mean boss/manager person is a good touch too haha!

The steaks are high in this jam, and I have no beef with how well you seized the moo-ment. I had a cow playing this one. The art assets are highly pasteurized! I appreciate the risk versus reward cow-culation necessary in slowly crossing the water. Udder-ly fantastic! 🐄

This is great! The sound effects are punchy, and the combat/survival has some nice depth!

I appreciate how you managed to make a variety of levels that are all so unique!

I appreciate how the obstacles make for sort of a cover shooter!

Savvy!

I really like the sound effects, and the 3d models are very well done! This turtle is agile! This could be its ninja turtle training!

Soooo chill! The music, sounds, sprites, and background assets are very nicely stylized, cohesive, and calming. I really appreciate how you did the buy/sell setup, which is actually a really intuitive use of ui without the time cost necessary to make an extra ui screen! Pizza island’s swaying grass is a nice touch haha. I also love the easter eggs like how the pizza island gives pizza fish and the lava island gives devil fish. A lovely little game!

The environment and use of colored lighting feels so unique and is visually appealing! The mirrors are just such a cool idea. I like how the player character's move set is so refined, a solid set of actions that all feel good. Really nice!

This is genius!

The art is perfectly minimalist, the concept nails the theme and twist, and the puzzles are designed with careful attention to detail in mind.

I love the clever story and title.

Awesome work!

The option to save or kill the villagers the peasants makes for a fun way to roleplay and pick your battles!

The atmosphere is very well established by the art and music.

The attacks are really punchy! I like how the spell system has you hold the button after hitting a target, it reminds me of how reloading a gun is more tense in VR because it's a deliberate and fumble-able action.

Really fun stuff!

Your anonymous friend did a great job with the music, it fits perfectly with the nicely stylized visuals and the nicely punchy sound effects.
The animations were on the player character are so nicely flowy, and when the glowing eyes character catches you, the jump animation is cool.
The ending is cute, and a nice way to tie into both themes.
I also commend the variety here, really cool to see two different fully realized game modes in a jam game!

Awesome work!

This is so fun! There are really great design decisions in here, the enemies being circular while the player is a rectangle, paired with the color choices, made it all very readable. I love how the character fires automatically, that makes things much more challenging. The level designs are great, the color palette looks nice, the sound design all works so well. Awesome work!

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it! 😁

So well executed and fun to experiment with! Great juice and audio and visual aesthetics. Awesome work!

Brilliantly stylized and realized, with gripping dialogue and story. Love the animated sprites. The quips and dialogue are spot on for early point and click nostalgia and for the setting! That door sound is perfect and hilarious. I love it!

You've made a really cool horror game! The sound design is excellent, the UI looks good and conveys what it needs to well. The menus are cool, the level design is closely reminiscent of the liminal spaces I've seen elsewhere online, and use of the environment for storytelling is great! My favorite part is the scripted intro part. Good work!

Really great mechanical take on the themes! I love how this takes the idea of a "movement shooter" literally! Great room for resource management and movement strategy, and I was pleasantly surprised by the powerup, which was a great change of pace and shows depth and maturity in your game's mechanical vocabulary. Nice work!

Yes, it is VR only. On reflection, I could have made a point and click or FPS style non-vr input system, but I didn't budget for it, sorry about that. Thanks for giving it a try!

Rad! I like the music a lot, some great mechanical choices here. Day/night cycle is interesting, and I really enjoy the ability to micromanage the dinos, that makes for a really fun puzzle / collection / crafting complement! Thanks!

I love it! The voice acting is spot on, the mechanical concept is cool and creative, it's straightforward, meets the themes. Truly a tale of the inevitabilities of life. Thank you!

It's exactly what it says on the tin, and it's awesome! A simple concept with great execution, the killing blows have great game juice to them, and the animations are slick! Absolutely hilarious, and worth playing for a little while.

This is really great. It's not easy, but you get the hang of the controls. I like the very different approach to the theme. The art and music is awesome, I think I want to use that "Victory!" as my text tone. The controls screen and the little tutorial bits are really nice.

I love this. The location and its features are surreal, it's mysterious, there's a mario pipe and trees in space, its apparently available in VR? It's just so interesting. I love your approach to "only one", and I really enjoyed the ending, a lot of games in this jam don't have an ending at all, but Only One NPC gave the feeling of a short, sweet, full experience.  Edit: You say there isn't an ending, but I interpretted "lets be friends" as the ending, a great ending, if you ask me.

This is great! Good choices on the art and music, and I really enjoy the way you utilized different types of input. Letting go of block to break the other player's block feels natural and was a genius decision!

This is really interesting! I enjoy the aesthetic, and I like the idea!

I can tell you've made puzzle games before. This is fantastic, the sound and gameplay is good, and there's quite a bit to play for a jam submission. I especially liked the part with the 3 or so lasers below you, with one up above. The laser above is enough to hint to the player that they're solving it the right way, while also adding challenge. I love it.

Thanks for playing my game! I don't know if I'd call my graphics "great" hahaha. I might build on what I originally had in mind some time after the jam!

This is awesome! Everything looks great. I really like the design of the fishmen. Screen shake is always a good thing to have, but this seems a little violent to me, I'd tone down the magnitude a bit. Thanks for your submission, it's really fun and creative.

Thanks man! I agree, AI would really have made a difference, alongside more supporting mechanics with the brick.

Thanks for playing my game!

Thanks! I could probably encourage taking more difficult shots by tweaking the level design a bit too. Combos were going to be a huge part that I didn't get to unfortunately. Thanks for playing my game!

Great work. Your game is simple, fun, satisfying, and it fits the theme well. I could see this as a mobile game, too.

This is kinda similar to my submission, but far better executed! Great game feel and overall design. I'd say that, given more time, more mechanical depth would be the next step, as well as more immediate visual delineation (maybe different colors) between enemy types. Brick Slayer is well designed, fun to play, and adheres perfectly to the theme!
