It might not have been the scariest game I’ve ever played but it was quite entertaining and I loved the dancing animations. I love jinn stories but I think this would have had more impact if all the info on the end screen would have been shown/spread throughout so you actually get to slowly learn what is going on and don’t just learn what’s happening after the game ended.

But overall fun and weird enough to stand out, I liked it!

I wouldn't sweat it, I actually put emphasis on "did not read" because it's right there in the instructions, so not a UI or UX issue, just a players-are-dumb-sometimes issue.

I was a bit unsure if this would be my thing because time-based games are usually breaking me but this was timed perfectly, so you can have a smooth process and even get back up if you're behind a little. It feels challenging but fair and the layout and gameplay is very smooth.

Also: love the additional inspiration for my own burger cooking :D

Oh, this was fun! Like some of the other commenters, I did not read the clear instructions fully and was a bit puzzled at first but once I figured it out (aka: reread the instructions properly this time around), it was super fun!

I love that you stay engaged because you have to rearrange and rethink words. It's scrabble but better because you get to play with a goose and no annoying person who will get too intense about it :D

Also: the goose animation with the little dust clouds is golden!

This was wonderful, such a gorgeous experience and storyline, the visual art style is beautiful, so short and sweet.

I had some initial issues in the main menu (cursor vanished) but after reloading it was all dandy. It’s an instant follow from me :)

Loved it! This had such a strong Twilight Zone feeling, it was beautiful. Cool puzzles and storytelling with all the items, I had a lot of fun with this.

I love the idea and the setting and the sound design is really interesting. Some of the elements did not fully connect with me (the text-on-screen overlapping with dialog and the desktop background bit took me more out of it than adding to it).

But the fantasy setting was so cool, I actually would have liked more of that world and a bit less psychological horror but that’s just my personal griping.

Can’t wait for your next game, you definitely try new things and stories, so that’s always exciting as a gamer.

This was so atmospheric, I loved the pacing of this, it was a slow burn but so well structured with the back and forth, the small differences each “round” and the conversations with the ferryman. I also adored the music for this, so subtle, beautiful and brooding. Kudos to Bradley, it fits the game perfectly and adds a lot of unease.

Thanks for the guide, it worked! It's a shame it's not fixed after all these years but your workaround will make it a lot easier for me (had to switch browsers constantly and after an update, not even my alt browser worked anymore).

I absolutely adored this. You had me at short story adaption, those are far and few in between in horror gaming (even though the genre lends itself to it) but the ones I know are also great.

You have such a great sense for the whole drama and storyboard. The visuals are great, the switch of perspectives, the small little walking segments, the dialog - it was all a big delight, I had so much fun, there were so many neat little surprises in the story and how you told it. Gorgeous.

Adrian, this was fantastic. The moment it started, I was hooked, I was tense as heck and I hated every second of it aka, your horror game succeeded 100% in what it set out to do.

I love how straight forward this was, that it wasn’t too hard to play through and I loved the details like the gigantic backpack, the sea-based toys, the slouch. Amazing work. I play so many horror shorts, so I am a little bit desensitised but this really got me good.

It’s an instant follow and I will check out your other games.

I got the notification text but couldn't do anything and had the little ball pretty much inside the big ball. I am not sure if the big ball was big enough, but it felt big enough. I will try to get it closer to the middle (if I find it in the white void :D).

Hi Majik, unfortunately, the left click for use does not work, so you can roll the snow balls but then can't stack them or add anything. Played on PC, if that helps.

(1 edit)

Edit: Haha, we basically posted each other's feedback at the same time, amazing :D

This was really neat, the character design is very cool, very disturbing and I liked the story and the puzzles, it made for two fun playthroughs.

I think the writing is a little bare-bones or rather, it feels like it was translated or written by someone who is not fully fluid in English. But that’s a small thing overall, I really enjoyed the game (I am heckling it a bit in my playthrough but that’s quite playful, I really liked the second ending storyline).

This was such a great surprise. The artwork is fantastic, the writing is such a great mix between horrifying and hilarious and there’s so many details. Lyle is amazing. No notes.

I wondered if there’s maybe too many variables you added for the character stats and you could maybe make the development process a little easier by removing one or two things to keep it a bit more straightforward because it’s a lot when you start the game and it’s probably even more if you really want to work it out further. But overall this is a fantastic demo/proof of concept and I really enjoyed my little adventure.

I really enjoyed the story, the visuals and some very neat ideas, like the subtle noise when exiting the lighthouse. It was very different from what I expected which is always good in such an oversaturated genre. It kept me hooked! I am looking forward to your next game!

My game bugged out twice at the end, I think the placement of the - redacted - might be inconvenient because it’s too close to the player, so it bugs out.

The clay figure design is amazing and I love the story. It’s so simple but incredibly effective. The whole concept is beautiful, as short as it is, I thought it had quite the punch and the text at the end was a great open ending. Beautiful work!

I love folk horror in any case but I did not expect this to be so amazing. The art and the cut scenes are stunning, the story is amazing and once I figured out what was going on, I just loved how everything fit together.

I also have no idea how you managed to make certain “investigation” techniques so fun even though they are so wrong :D

I am in awe.

Hi, I wanted to share my lets play because I have quite a bit of feedback. I think the game looks and plays fairly well but the lack of story and narrative cohesion is not doing it any favours, it feels unfinished that way but I think it only needs a few small fixes to remedy that.

So if you like, you can watch me talking at length about some tips or you can ask me some questions here on itch, I am happy to give some further feedback if needed (and wanted) :)

Loved the first act and then the second act added so much to the story and what you can take from it. Amazing writing and the visual style is gorgeous, all those cinematics, just a really cool experience.

Shout out also to the music, so subtle yet unnerving.

(only thing for me: the J-button is an unusual choice to continue the text but I guess that’s mainly to do with the game actually being designed for the gameboy so no biggie)

Oh, this was wonderful, the story was great, the writing, loved the visuals but how absolutely darling to make it so easy to go for the different endings. It makes trying out for other endings so much more fun!

I really hope, you stick with horror, you have a great distinct style, both visually and story-wise.

I still enjoy your ideas and can't wait for the next project (with localization, hurra!).

I love the premise, your story ideas are always fantastic but my lord, that English translation :D

It's close to being completely broken, although I understood the main plot points, it ruined the atmosphere so much and turned some conversations into abstract art pieces.

I am sure the original conversations are disturbing and creepy but due to the translation it was more comedy than the surreal dread that the plot implied.

Absolutely gorgeous, I loved it, it’s so reminiscent of old 80s/90s horror movies but still feels very fresh and fun. Jessa is a fantastic character, the voice over was great (had a lot of personality), the puzzles were really smooth and the overall setup is amazing.

I really hope that we’ll get to see the game, I put it on my wishlist! I would love not only the full story but the anthology come to life because even though anthologies are quite the trend in horror nowadays, this game style and tone is actually seldom enough (because it is a lot of work).

Only other developer team I have in mind are Octavi Navarro and Susanna Granell's Midnight Scenes series.

And it would be a great companion piece because this is more the 80s/90s slasher version of it.

Absolutely AMAZING story, I would have played a 6 hour game of this, watched the 4 season HBO series and read the books, it’s so good, such a great idea.

Also: it was gross beyond imagination, loved it.

I love that you tried something new with this episode of Midnight Scenes, it was a big surprise and hit just the right spots. I am continuously in awe how you create these very real characters, from the character art to the dialog, it’s so much fun to spend time (well, considering …) with them.

I also you think that you two are fantastic at pacing because this story could have been a slog (and there are games where it is) but you managed to work in enough changes and deviations to keep it engaging.

Amazing work. As always.

It might not have been the most frightening game I’ve ever played but that voiceover was so well done, the whole story had a Goosebumps vibe in that it was highly entertaining, a little camp and a tad weird (in a good way).

I also think that the writing was quite good, even though Emily is not the brightest bulb in the murder shed, her monologues and dialogs felt very natural.

Well, now I am feeling extra special :D

Loved this. I love the way you tell your stories, it always feels full circle, like a proper Twilight Zone episode that just doesn’t end with a jumpscare but instead ties a bow to the overall story. I also laughed the humor in it.

There’s so many games like this but your gameplay, humor and pacing made this a breath of fresh air. I loved how you timed and placed the scares, so smart to keep me surprised (aka screaming) and prepping the food was so fun, just tossing everything :D Stellar work.

I love the idea of wholesome horror and this felt so lively for a game jam game, I really enjoyed myself and loved the story. Also, that living environment was a mess but looked just weird enough to feel realistic for some secluded weirdo :D

Not sure I can live with the ending :D but I loved the gameplay and premise, especially for a game jam game this was great and surprisingly complex.

The idea is fantastic and I love how scared it made me when I had to enter the dark rooms one by one to clap, fantastic tension. I think I would have loved if more clues as to what was going on would have been found in the house, the neighbour was a bit too much exposition but for a first horror game, this was pretty neat and I love the way the neighbourhood looks!

I thought “oh, here we go, another multiple endings game” but I had so much fun with this, you just put these small but effective little quirks to each playthrough, our “friend” (I called her ‘Janet’) was deliciously awful and the idea of having different rituals is fantastic. Loved it.

It really showed. Also, one of my viewers (Capybaraforge, who I also mention in the video because the game reminded me a little of his work which I adore) was absolutely amazed by the game.

I had some troubles with fishing itself (but I was never born to hunt for my own food, I admit) but absolutely love how the environment grows more sinister, together with the audio, it was so effective and something I don’t see often in shorter indie games.

I know that other things were the main focus but the way the sea and the sky progressed was my favourite part, it was so gorgeous and scary.

This was so good at creating a feeling of unease. It had a bit of a Skinamarink vibe and I love that it was surreal but only to a point where it still felt immersive (and not that surreal that you loose relatability with the real world which usually drains a game of scares).

I picked your game to be the first after my break because I knew it would make me happy. I loved this, the timing, the sounds, the cinematics, it was so effective. I was scared poopless even before anything happened :D

I can’t believe this is a game jam game, it looks and plays fantastic and even though it’s very short, it has everything for a full experience (puzzles, stories, and an amazing ending).

Also, can I tell you have great it is to have you on itch because it’s been quite a while that I played some great point & click pixel horror games in this style and it’s one of my favourite sub-genres.

This game is well worth the price, it’s hand-crafted, no AI crap, you get proper voice acting, amazing writing and gorgeous visuals and sound design. Above all, the gameplay is super fun and engaging. Think of old-school call center support but in a world full of weird entities, phenomena and creatures.

I had a blast with this game and especially loved how the game mixes a lot of humor with genuinely terrifying concepts and stories.
