I enjoyed the progression and puzzles. Lots of... "no way I am going to make that... oh I did it" moments. The screen animation upon death is a bit much for me as often as death occurred but overall I enjoyed the game. Great job on the amount of levels/puzzles/content for such a short jam.

I am reworking the collision generator. Between that and the hazards at least, the game jam content we originally planned should be in this game at some point after the jam. No idea how long though. Course work is heating up at school. I'll post an update on the game page and in discord when its fixed up. Thanks for the encouragement. One thing I find helps me when I play this dodgy version is to use WASD exclusively and to spam the spacebar to jump over the taller obstacles.
I enjoyed this game a lot... and died a lot. Ha! Not sure if it was just my slow hand-eye-click coordination or something in the game but several times I felt like I had definitely captured the bullet that I ate. If it is not just me then perhaps a small amount of fine-tuning there or maybe an "old person mode". It is hard to believe how much can be achieved in what seems like a short window of time. Nice job overall. Congrats on your game.
The UI is great and I appreciate the usability features (audio controls) and the way you did the info panels for the controls, jump stamina, and scoring. Things I would suggest for improvement are fine-tuning the double jump recharge rate and/or tweaking the collision areas on the sprites so that near misses are a little more forgiving.
Unfortunately, we ran out of time to implement the one feature that would have brought the theme into the picture. So you will have to imagine with me until I can update the game in the future. :)
Blobby is flammable and the plan is to have a growing fire hazard chasing him through the levels as his slime trails ignite and cause a sense of urgency. Also, the spiky glass bits are supposed to be hazards for Blobby. We were just too ambitious and ran out of time.
Thank you for checking it out and for the feedback.
Thank you for checking the game out and for all the great feedback. These are all fair points and we plan to continue polishing this game after the jam is up. The physics stuff stinks but we ran out of time before the end of the jam to do it properly. Thanks again. This is a very encouraging review overall for the idea... even if our execution of it needs a lot more work to make it good. :)
100% agree the collision is glitchy at the moment. The fact that you can wall jump is a bug and that collision forces you mainly toward the start but wall jumping ended up making the main level able to be completed and we ran out of time. Replayability with a game like this makes a lot of sense but at the moment nothing is procedurally generated. A great idea for some future version of the game. Thanks for playing and for the feedback.
