thank you for the useful feedback! I’ll be sure to include speed options up to 5 in the post jam version. While 1x speed was very useful for testing I can see how it wouldn’t be great for actual playing.

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it and that the paper please vibes came across!

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it and liked the music and art!

Everyone starved to death within like 3 years on my first try haha. Second try I finished my pyramid by year 86 and spent the rest of the time turning the planet into a hedgehog by building hundreds of obelisks. In the end the gods condemned my hubris haha! Really liked this game, mixed my love of tycoon style games with my love of Ancient Egypt. Great work!

Built a pyramid in 5m 35s! This combines two things I love, idle games and Ancient Egypt! You nailed it on both fronts. The art and colour palette were nice and the music is good and fits really well. It really made me want more and I would love to play this expanded with bigger and bigger pyramids and more options for autoclickers (Im not marking you down for that btw). Very solid idle game. Great job!

Very cool artistic choice to make the game look like a physical tabletop. You really pulled it off! It's a shame I couldn't finish the first fight, but this project has some real potential! It's a real challenge to make a game in 96 hours and to get something up with this much style (I love how cute the characters are drawn) in the time limit is an achievement. Great effort!

What an adorably drawn game. I really love all the little critters! Sometimes it wasn't clear which animals I could click on, but otherwise the game works really well. I love that enhancing the senses involves stretching the body part out, it's really cute. The music was nice and chill too. Overall a lovely entry. Well done!

I made $13,221! Funny tycoon style game. I absolutely lost it when the first shopper fell off the tower haha. Then after I lost and left it running for a bit the screen was full of the little animals flying all over the place, which was hilarious. I loved the almost Animal Crossing style animal designs too. All round this was a fun entry. Well done!

Also bonus praise for the 'bepis'!

Made it to level 25! Took more attempts than Id like to admit, but I'm pretty sure I'm at least a tiny bit better at speed typing now haha. Loved all the switch ups and random lines thrown in. It kept the game feeling fresh as I went up each floor, and I was wondering what the next floor would say. Altogether a really fun typing game (I didn't know typing games could be this fun)! Very well done!

I love the Ancient Greek theme and art! Feels well polished and plays well. I didn't manage to beat it (because I was very silly and played the siren despite the warning. That's on me) but I really liked this one. Art and music were very good quality and it was fun seeing all my little guys fighting. Well done!

Really enjoyed playing through this. A solid parkour platformer. I liked how it gradually added more and more technicality and types of moves/jumps. All of the movement felt good and perfectly weighty/momentum-y. I think I managed to get to the end but I get motion sick quite easily and had to stop eventually (not the game's fault, mind, so I'm not marking it down because of that). Otherwise this was a really fun entry. Excellent work!

Absolutely beautifully drawn and animated! The opening cinematic is gorgeous and really sweet. I love all the little critters! I sadly couldn't get through the first level so I couldn't see much of it. But what I did see was lovely. Good job!

Really fun roguelike game! I really love the art! The wagon dog is really cute and the little portraits are very nicely drawn and there are some funny ones. Fit the theme very well with the constant fight to tip the scales. Very good entry, well done!

(1 edit)

Really cool concept for a game! Though I found it quite difficult to make squares. As another comment mentioned it might make it easier for the player to simply click and drag to make rectangles. Otherwise this is a really cool idea and I'd love to see it develop further. I really like the art style too! Awesome work, keep it up!

Very chill puzzle game with nice music. I liked the gradual introduction of different puzzle elements like the vents and the switches. It meant the difficulty kept increasing but at just the right pace so it never left me feeling frustrated or confused. Very nice art work, it all felt cohesive and really fit the game. The only thing that I feel would improve the experience is if the first couple of levels were tutorialised a bit more, though it didn't take me long to work out how to play. Overall this is a solid entry, and I enjoyed playing it! Well done for getting all this done in the time limit!

Cool simulation/strategy game, with some good sprite work! It was fun watching all the little guys running around the screen. Definitely huge potential for this project! It was an ambitious choice making a strategy simulation game for the jam, but it paid off! Well done!

"Wow!" Was my first reaction when I saw this come up on the feed. I was really surprised to see an FMV game (which I absolutely love as a genre) in the jam. Needless to say I was not disappointed. This game was awesome and every part felt really well crafted! The camerawork and acting was all stellar and it's extremely impressive that all this was made in under 4 days! Excellent work and I can't wait to see what else you make in future!

A pretty, and short but sweet platformer with solid art and sound design. Uses the theme well with its shrinking player which acts almost like a time limit. The wall jumping was cool and fun to use. I enjoyed this one and kept going till I eventually finished it. Great job!

Had a lot of fun playing this on stream! It was so satisfying to finally work out each of the puzzles. Ended up getting stuck on one about halfway through but I would happily have kept trying to beat it all night haha. Altogether very solid puzzle game. It made me think but wasn't frustrating. Excellent work!

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I've managed to find 6-7 ancient Egypt games so far. They're all really good!

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it and I'm happy you liked the hammer bit haha!

Thank you for the feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! If you liked this one, there are I think 6 or 7 other Egypt themed scale games this jam that I think you'll enjoy too.

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I just realised that it somehow never occurred to me to make the scales move haha. The indicator was there from the earliest draft when it wouldn't even have been that hard for me to make a moving scale

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm doubly happy you liked Smendes! I've had a couple of people mention that about the cursor. Definitely something that I'll be mindful of in future since it's not super clear that its the round end and not the pointy end that is the cursor point.

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you for the feedback! The timer was definitely a hard thing for me to judge since I'd memorised so much of the game haha. I'm glad Mr Mano (the legend himself) approves :)

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm glad we were able to work out what caused the bug together. It was something I don't think I would ever have found while testing haha

A nice spin on the original classic, Pong. I had a moment where the ai was bouncing the ball between itself and the wall till it was unbelievably fast which was a funny moment. Solidly programmed and enjoyable. Well done!

Really enjoyed playing through this (and trying to boundary break it) on stream! The visuals of moving between the surface and space were really cool and I loved the mechanics of changing the scale of the planets and sun to affect the surface and solve puzzles (almost zero gravity ftw). Can't wait to see more from you guys!

Absolutely loved every aspect of this game! The writing, voice acting and art were all so cute. The most emotionally engaged I've been with any game so far this jam. It made me really want to help all the animals. I didn't want it to end. It's so impressive that all this was made in 96 hours. You all did a fantastic job!

This game, though short, was a blast to play! I had a smile on my face the whole time. All the visuals and music were so fun and chaotic. I would definitely play an infinite runner version of this! Well done!

Really enjoyed playing through this one! The hammer jump took some getting used to but it was so satisfying to get right. All the art was really solid too. All round blast to play! Well done!

GOTY 2024!!! Changed my life!

Really interesting idea for a game. I couldn't really get it to work though, I could pull the sheet out, use the stamp and put it on the scales, then it stops working till I close and open it again. This game does have a lot of potential though.
